Hi I have just been asked to clean the roof of this house and would like to know if it’s possible to softwash it or would it be a nightmare to do. It’s heavyily mossed. What would be the best plan of attack? Also how long would it take aswell as what would you charge. Thanks

Pretty straightforward job is that and can be done from the gutter line.
1stly blank the gutter off to stop heavy moss dropping down swan neck.
Pull down the heavy crud with a wire brush on a pole.
Empty gutters and remove blank. Rinse roof down ensuring no ingress by forcing water under tile.
Apply correct %roof wash. Lightly reapply if drying before 45min or so.
Wash off.

I apply using old wfp brush as to agitate remaining organic material and get a uniformed chem amount on tile.

Now then CHWS I'm a stickler for PPE.

I assume you have all your required PPE.
I know! Blah blah blah

Nasty stuff is chems.

Can all change in the blink of an eye.

Yes I have all the correct ppe. What sort of wire brush on a pole ? I thought it would have been easier if a roofing ladder ? How much would you charge?

Only thing with going on the roof is you risk the custy accusing you of damaging tiles etc. Most garden centres sell a wire moss brush that sits on a Harris type pole they're around £20 Just for the head.
Our area (Derbyshire) you would be looking around £700 for both sides with 1 days work for 2 men.

Do you actualy get many accept it ? I have never got a roof clean that I have quoted for all say it’s too much money , have to say that they haven’t got anyone else to do it either as it’s easy to see if it’s been done I agree with the price you said that’s the kind of figure I would have said for that job

Can't think of any quotes I haven't had. Had to roll 4 over from last year onto this year's as was getting into winter and wasn't prepared to do anymore. Must be the area your in but don't give up as once word of mouth starts it becomes a bit overwhelming
