Rinsing Hypo, am I doing it properly?

I’ve only done a few jobs and it’s going well. The only problem is, I seem to spend too long rinsing. Trying to rinse off the hypo seems never ending. How much rinsing should I do? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks Robbo

Robbo. Do you mean your still getting a little bit of foaming AFTER rinsing?
This is common and most times is down to the surfactant that you should of added to the neat barrel of hypo.
I find the easiest way after applying hypo (If the area allows it ) is to use a fsc Spinner which will evenly clean and dilute/remove most of the chems.
Then rinse off with a wide angled low pressure but good water flow lance and that seems to do the job for me.
Also if there is a really low amount of hugely diluted hypo left within the joints then letting that dry will give added protection until it's ready to sand and seal and by that point any chems will be dead and the perfect underlay for the sand! Happy days.

But the most important thing about rinsing is of course PPE.
How is your PPE?

Thanks for your reply, yes I do mean I still get some foaming after rinsing.

I use Clever Wash to add to the hypo, and i'll take on board your suggestions for rinsing, thank you.

PPE is good but I have a large area to do on Saturday so I am also going to purchase a chemical mask.
