K Rend Wash Advice

Hi All

When applying the wash to the the k rend do you have to wet the walls first then add wash or does it depend on how bad the staining is.

I was told to just apply wash leave for the correct time on with a bit of light pw or brushing if required then rinse down!

I’ve read as well to wet the walls first, but both houses I’ve done I didn’t wet the walls. And it worked completely fine/normal

Wet the walls down first so the mix stayes on the surface rather than being soaked up by the render

Beginning to notice that before cleaning begins its better to wet the area first. I suppose its like cleaning ones hands, water soap then rinse.

Sounds more logical to wet first and it won’t take that long to do anyway so think I’ll being going that way!

I always give surfaces a good soaking to keep the chemicals on the surface where they are needed.

Especially with this hot weather! Another nugget when softwashing render, you start from the bottom and work your way to the top with the WFP connected to the softwash backpack. I know it sounds daft but that's the technique I saw in the video.

That's it. You don't end up with weird stripes. Apply chemicals from bottom up and rinse from top down. Sounds daft but often overlooked
