Anglers on the forum

Down in Cornwall at the moment. Been out fishing today, so thought I’d do a bit of showing off with a beauty I caught today.

Now before others boast of 30lb carp etc, I caught this common with a standard rod (not carp rod). 

Only had a 7lb line, no boilies etc, just a bit of bread.

18lb of solid muscle. Took me 20 minuets to land it as my rod was virtually bent in two!

@tench0771 I know you live in the south west, do you know ‘smugglers lakes’ at Cubert, between Newquay and perranporth?

Its a good day out. Also had a bag of big bream.

Not as good as a big pike for me but each to their own

I like to use light tackle for predator fishing rather than just beasting the fish out

A 5lb pike on a fly is a lot more exiting than a 20 on 30lb braid

Nice fishing down south.. feeling a bit jealous

If I were in Cornwall id be at the coast for Bass. 

ive only fished down cornwall twice and that was white acres newquay  im up near torquay way , nice fish @steve garwood   i love my pole fishing 

Lovely fish Steve ??, my favourite way was to fish floating crust in the margins... Hit and hold on for dear life.. the old cane rod would bend double ?.
