If you have a Spring or a Varistream controller you can get away with not having the pressure switch connected. Varistream tell you to disconnect your P/S from the electric circuit when fitting their controller.

I would just buy the one from Gardiners. fit it, and then in true Spruce style see if the first one can be repaired with a new microswitch.
