Brown tap water

Some w ankers have burst a pipe and we've now got brown water (some areas don't have any water). Has anyone ran this through their di vessel? I'd imagine the sediment in the water would pass through and end up on the windows. tds is up but my concern is the sediment in the water. 

It may clog the resin beads and thus making them inactive.

Annoying to hear that.

I remember staying up on the Isle of Harris above Scotland, in a isolated house, all the tap water was brown too. All the girls were screaming when they ran a bath

Has the TDS changed much? If not it shouldn't be an issue. It's just a different colour.

Took the filter off the tap to check for sediment and it's full of brass shards/shavings.... Wtf.

I would report that straight away to Scottish Water as that is a huge risk for human consumption

Emailed them although they'll suggest it was from my plumbing I really don't see how it could be.
