Tap water in tank

Hi Guys,

i have a jet washing job this wk and need to take water from van no access to a tap, if I fill my tank with tap water and empty it before I refill.

will it contaminate it? Or will I be ok just refilling it with pure water? 

Yeah should be fine doubt your reading will change.

Should be OK but what size tank have you and what is your TDS 

650 litre tank

tap water is around 280

Should be ok just cheak your tank tds when filling with pure and flush it out if needed 

Drain the tank then If you've got one, suck out all remaining water with gutter vac

If my maths are correct, if you leave 10 litres in and fill with 0 pure you're tank TDS will be 004. So if you leave 1 litre in you will still register 0

I used to have tap water in the tank and run through a DI. When I moved to RO I emptied the tank and rinsed it down with a little pure from the backpack. After just emptying the tank the TDS was reading 002, after rinsing it read 0. In order to fully empty the tank you need to tilt it on its side otherwise a small about will remain the tank. I did think afterwards that it might have been easier to put the van half on the kerb though.
