hi guys, just set up my system in my van. All new, just a question. How long should I flush my RO? I've heard 30 mins but also heard 8 hours. The lowest ppm I can get is 140 from the pure. Thanks in advance!

It depends.. mine needed a couple of hours and then steadily got lower in use over the next 2 days

Some membranes have preservatives in them which need to be flushed out

I have had some other membranes which needed no flushing

After around 2 hours of flush you will get around 94 % rejection but sometimes lucky 96/98 % depending on pressure.

Can take a good few days production to lower it that extra 2/3% in some cases.

Perhaps a silly question but why does  the production improve after a few days ? You would think it should be at its best straight away ?? I find I only have to replace membranes every 7-9 years so it’s not something that I have much experience with .
