as far as Ime aware there are rubber o rings inside it , I doubt that they are Viton grade so my answer is if you 

Put  hypo through it it won’t last long

I put it through mine although it always gets a good rinse after. I really need to get a separate pole for softwashing though 

I have done it,  always rinse well afterwards .

I've changed my setup now because you can accidentally activate a univalve by treading on the hose etc which can be dangerous when applying hypo/biocide etc.  A manual tap is much better...
