Agggrrr!  As the title says. I enjoy a sunday drink, but will try not to as wont bode well for hard days graft tomorrow in the forecast heat. can try and just have a few I guess. What do people think on this. I know driving wise a unit leaves the system an hour after drinking it. Yeh, will just have a few to socialise. have to beware though. Once I have over about 4, thats it, go at it hammer and tongues, and manys the next day been cancelled ? ?

Still having a drink, just having my first one after having too much yesterday, bit of graft down the allotment this morning and back down this afternoon as it's overcast today, But the killer day for the heat looks to be Wednesday 28c

yeh i think its worse down here. early 30s they say. some of the buildings just store the heat up like ovens. think I.ll have a few down the anchor, its nearest the river and you get a nice cooling breeze.

As a rule rule of thumb the body removes 1 unit per hour ,but and it’s a big but there are so many variables that this shouldn’t be used as a reliable guide for driving as all the following will affect you .

level of hydration

what you have eaten

Are you well rested or tired

level of fitness

age

temperature and humidity

what you have drunk ,(is it all the same or a mixture of different types of alcohol

strength of the alcohol

time period it’s consumed over

this is not an exhaustive list there are many other contributing factors , if you want to be sure if you are fit to drive buy the alcohol breath test kits that you have to carry if driving in France they can be bought from Halfords and other motoring factors  this will be a far more accurate way of knowing .

Ime sure no one wants tk be done for drink driving or killing someone whilst under the influence, Sadly  after 30 years in the Fireservice the vast majority of fatal RTC we attended alcohol was a factor in what happened, enjoy yourselves but think of yourself and others before driving a taxi or friend picking you up is a much better and safer alternative for everyone

yes this is a big problem, many presume they're under the next day but often they might be still over more than 24 hours later. I stopped at 4 pints and eaten well.

I stopped at 12, have eaten very well but unfortunately I'm now home and the Wife is plying me with Bacardi. Think she's after her wicked way. Looks like the son has a long hard day tomorrow  :delusional:

It's not often I drink too much, but if it's a Sunday I take it easy, I had 6 small cans of beer over 9hrs and I always eat well, a litre of coffee this morning a decent breakfast and I will be raring to go as it's another cloudy day.

i said goodbye to boozing sessions about 4 years ago, and bye to the ciggies 3 & a half years ago. I got bored of waking up on a sunday with a heavy head, overweight and feeling like death.

I missed out on a lot too looking back. I have grandparents to visit, my parents to visit, my partner & my son need me, i’m 30 but i really feel there’s more to life. Home and family are the two most important things and id hate to think id miss out on any of that.

I’ll have the odd beer once in a blue moon maybe but i could happily stay off it altogether.

meeting a group of mates on bank holiday august weekend but will probably only have one or two as im doing a big family bbq the next day and cant be setting that up pie eyed ?

I see my sons, my mum and dad as often as possible, still doesn’t stop me going on the lash every weekend though.

I’d hate to give up drinking. My wife and I love a good drink on a Friday night, then it’s lads day Saturdays, whether it’s Millwall or local pub or a ska doo, all involves a good drink and letting your hair down.

My sons often come over the pub Sunday lunchtimes.

I love pubs and love drinking, takes your mind of work once Friday is over ?

Yeah it just works for some people. Some families are more the “pub going” type more than others i guess. My nan and gramps on my dad’s side had regular nights up the legion and bingo etc and my old man used to like his pubs and a drink but hes been advised not to drink at all now as he has too much iron in his blood and has to have blood withdrawn once a fortnight. I used to love it to be fair but i had to make a change as my health was in a right state and i thought right if im quitting the ciggies the last place i need to be is a pub.

one of my old chef mates has just got out of hospital now he was a proper party head. Hes 55 now but all his life hes worked drank and partied, heavy smoker also. His chest finally gave warning signs and had to have a minor operation. I said to him to get an allotment or something and spend some more time with his mum as shes getting on now, he agrees he just cant do the lifestyle any more ?‍♂️

I know someone like that ? Must admit chucking the f@gs 18 years ago was a big help.
Well done! I’m still nicotine addicted mate, i use one of those vaporiser things, terrified of the real ones, i make sure the battery is charged every night because if i didnt have it i’d be up the creek

Yeh i know the problem. ive given up many times, longest a year but back on em. And i love a weekend drink, but i always smoke double on the lash. Must crack it again. best thing to do give them up. on a monday after a wkend binge I sometimes gasp for air when trying to sleep and have to get up and wonder about in a bit of a panic. hate that.

Yeh mate we've lost quite a few. We often wonder who's next. doesnt help this epidemic of coke everywhere. One our mates had a heart attack and on medication etc and still canes the charlie. its that generation that doesnt wanna grow up. Still partying/clubbing etc at the ages our parents wouldnt have dreamed of lol.

Well I’m 53 and, I’m not giving it the big one here, I would struggle to stay in on a Friday night, and I would rather eat white dog turds than stay in on a Saturday night.

I live for the weekends. Life’s to short to sit in watching cr*p on tv and constantly working.

This is not a rehearsal, one innings, enjoy life ?

I notice the rare wkend I dont go out for some odd reason, it just seems llike wasted time.Maybe that'll change one day, but then i reckon I'll join the legion. cheap beer in there.

Yeh, I suppose that’s where I’m fortunate. I have a blinding local pub near me where we all know each other.

We go horse racing, go on beano’s and Anne the landlady has bands in the pub a couple of times a month.

She even does me Sunday dinner when the Mrs is away ?

yeh thats the type of boozer should and used to be everywhere. We got a few are ok, but many are gone all soul-less now, or more like restaurants. lot closed too. Govt are a lot to blame. taxing it too much so more people drink cans instead.
