I am going to buy a roof scraper and all my google searches give me two models to choose from. The Marshalls or the Benz scrapers.

Anyone use either of these, if so what are your thoughts ??

Little more expensive from Steve but his scrapers are the full width of the tile so less scraping. They also tilt in all directions so you can get the moss from all different angles.

If you ever come across a tile that isn’t your mainstream tile you can send him one or a plastic/cardboard cut out of it and he’ll get a scraper made up for it.

Do these attach to window cleaning pole?
yes mate I use the renegade from WCW it’s heavy but I find the weight helps to drag the moss off

Its made from a bit of facia board very lite and remarkably strong

On the Marshalls Pro I've tired all week to get someone to ring/reply to me...all PMs or posts on the Fb page have gone unresponded….? Also msged a few guys who are waiting for orders to be filled /threating to report them to trading standards so doesn't look good so far - shame cos I like the kit but somethings not right over there. (no email or phone numbers on fb or their website - odd...? if you're in the business of selling things!)

@Doddy111

Do you know if 'steve' does the all metal angle adapter...they get quite a bit of stick and seen the lower plastic part snap - all ally option looks like it would last longer (marshall pro - do'em except you can't order 'em or get anyone to confirm eta etc ?)

@NoName there’s quite a few lads on that group that have put orders in with Marshall and haven’t heard or received anything.

I’ve just asked him he doesn’t do the the metal angle adapter but he may be adding it in the future

Cheers Doddy...in the pic is that the acme thread option, do they do a 'gardiner' angle adapter version (or do you take one half of the Gardiners off and it couples with the metal 'disc'?

Scraping the roof clear of moss etc is great idea, it seems to come away easy, but then surely they wouldnt need the gutters cleared in the future? That moss must take years to grow. How much do most charge to scrape an average size semi roof? Its new to me, but i'd guess a day for one person, and get upwards from £250?

Yup that's kinda the point ? Once removed spray with a biocide...kills the rhizomes (roots) moss free roof for 10-15-20.... years

Can be time-consuming, tiring and kit/chems isn't cheap - factor it all in to the price (based on your aspirational day rate with possibly a premium for a specialist service - down to you) Don't advise you go crazy and do more than one a month - your shoulder will thank you

 And winter job mostly? I hope to eventually be full up with just glass like some are, but to fill in could be a seller.

I’ve had it on the end of my gardiners pole I just bought the quick release with thread on the end. I’m on a roof clean tomorrow (weather dependant) so I’ll get some pictures for you pal
