Prediction time guys, trying to improve the mood regarding coronavirus.

Who do you thinks gonna be the 1st forum member to catch it?

I'm guessing me. Swansea seems to be ground zero in Wales, and a bakery 100m away from me has had someone come up positive for it.

Nice knowing you all.....

I'll raise you... Just down the road in Neath

Couldn't give a flying f♡ck, if I get it or not

This is the type of  internet ? that gets the idiots panicking.

My daughter in law works with a confirmed case and has to be tested or self isolate.
Agree, my wife got a call from her sister the other day and she said some one had a it not too far away from her got the info of Fb and later found out to be totally false. internet and media

I am guessing that is the 1 confirmed case in your city, hope your daughter and everyone is ok and manages over the next 2 weeks, currently only 1 across the whole of County Durham

I reckon it'll probably me be.

My partner is a nurse in an affected hospital. She came home yesterday saying they've got cases confirmed. She also said A&E is a hotzone

With respect i think your cavalier attitude needs to be reeled in. Do you not realise how this virus is ravafing our nation? - Every day another politician or celebrity is struck down with symptoms and it's reported in the media. Now it's Susanna Reid and Keith Lemon making the news with symptoms / self isolating. This thing is RIPPING acorss our country at near light speed.

Your DIL may be working with A confirmed case, my partner as a nurse is stuck in a hospital with multiple. We have a son who will almost certainly carry it into his school once she's brought it home (if she hasn't already). Once it's in the school silently spreading (thanks to Boris refusing to close them) there'll be another viral explosion point.

Panicking?

What happens when big steve the supermarket lorry driver falls ill or dies and has spread it to his colleagues at the distribution depot - who also all end up off work? - Those lorries won't drive themselves to deliver supplies to your local supermarket. Worse one might have the same cavalier attitude as you tinking "I'll already be isolated in my cab - i'll go to work"... he might then fall ill behind the wheel and cause a massive accident.

My cavalier attitude???? I don't sit at home reading the doom mongers predictions. I actually get on with my life and follow instructions. If I get the disease it won't be because I've been licking door handles it will be because the instructions I followed didn't work. If I get it and I am one of the 3% that are forecast to die then there really isn't much more I could've done.

I've lived through all the other end of world disasters and fully intend to live through this one. What I won't do is sit crying behind a desk worrying if I'm going to get it or not, or even predicting I'm going to be the first in the bunch to get it.

Aye, I don't even think about it and just get on with my working life. I do wash my hands a lot more or have tru touch gloves on but life still goes on. I was at a customer today and I'm doing a bit of sanding soft roughcast because the team made a mess of it. Used my sander for 5 minutes and it blew the motor in it. Had to go and buy a new one for £550 or my job was cancelled. Put the old one in for repair which will cost a ton. This got me thinking, who should pay for tools and equipment? The customer obviously. I should be charging a rental on equipment or I have to pay when it breaks and its the same with wfps, filters, vans, resin, ladders, brushes, uniforms, diesel, mobile and everything else we use. I'm glad that happened to me today or I would have never gave it a thought. fwiw

Even on this subject, you made that post all about you again as usual ?????

It's not the customers fault it broke. Its your fault for working in sandy conditions..

Did the same thing myself once with a Hilti drill, got sand in it... My own fault and hit me in my pocket. Never made that mistake again.

Don't forget, if you need a hand from some one who can easily wipe down doorsteps, I'm your man

They said the jack plug hasn't been locked in and when its loose the power arcs. Well it is a sander moving about all the time. Anyway its 10yrs old so I got my monies worth out of it. The new one has a 3yr warranty so I'll probably give the old one to my mate who gets all my old ones. Only saving grace in this environment is doing many tasks which keeps anyone busy.

Firstly if you get it and die, yes there was more you could have done.

Secondly saying you're going to get on with your life suggests you mean you're taking no notice of it, the risks or how to avoid catching / spreading it.

I urge you to think more carefully about this. My partner is a nurse and she is quite clear that the NHS is not prepared to cope with this. If you get yourself ill there is a likelyhood that you might not have a hospital bed to go to.

I'm not going to debate this any further with you as it would cause friction but please don't dismiss this as some minor annoyance that you can safely ignore.

I will do what the Government and their specialists advise, not what panic merchants say. Some of your posts, wagon drivers dying at the wheel for example, have been absolutely ridiculous.

Pure water will save us, if it can clear dried-on bird **** off windows it can kill a weak larger even if they call it extra.

Trust me.

@steve garwood can you comment on reports now circulating that a Ginger with a distinct Londoner brogue was seen acting suspiciously in South London at 11:59? Initial photofit would indicate someone matching this profile >>?‍? ?
