Hope you're all social isolating! ?

I developed a pain in my kneck in autumn last year. I imagine from staring up whilst washing windows. I've got a pair of the funny looking glasses now but the pain hasn't gone on it's own with time like I was hoping it would although it's not as bad as it was.

Now I'd like to go a physio about it but obviously can't do that at the moment.

It feels like a muscular pain at base of kneck/middle of shoulders and perhaps on the right hand side rather than in the centre. Can feel it when I look up or down.

Anyone had similar and can recommend any exercises to alleviate it?

I would recommend regular excersise of the neck, and shoulders as well in your case.

Tilt head up & down for a number of reps.

Turn head side to side for a number of reps.

Roll head around for a number of reps, both directions.

Roll shoulders backwards for a number of reps.

Roll shoulders forwards for a number of reps.

Do that two or three times a day and it should help, does for me any way.

Cocodamol and beer sorts mine out ?.

Heat and then ice alternately for a couple hours really does help.

Also standing further back with pole extended more when doing high windows helps avoid neck/shoulder pain.

I get both due to previous rotator cuff injuries and standing further back makes a big difference and also means more pressure on the glass.

Are you wearing a Fitbit?  If you are then there are numerous people who have got issues from using them. My wife is one of them.

As suggested a regular sports massage to sort n maintain problem, cant be done just now.

I suffer similar problem as yourself, but haven't had treatment, I use to be a sports therapist n wish I could work on the area.

If you google massage knobbler, it's a hand tool with 4 different sized balls, get someone to work it over the muscles, avoiding the spine/bones. There is probably YouTube videos on how to use.
