Boiling a new scrim?

I have some new scrims arriving today.

Years ago I seem to remember boiling mine in hot water for an hour or so before use as it decreases the stiffness and in creases the absorbtion.

Does anyone else do this?
Dear me that brings back some memories ?? ide  forgotten doing that with new scrum but yes we did do it .

My dad use to boiler his scrims stink the house out haha

Buy pre washed ones, will still need breaking in

Don't think I own a scrim now just microfibers

I used to just put them in the washer at 60 twice, then found them fine to work with. We always bought the hemmed version pre washed, then after those couple of washers they were manageable.

Yes I do, Even when you purchase pre washed scrims I boil them to "break" them in and make them better for detailing.
