Hi all. I’ve purchased this booster pump (photo attached). I need to boost water pressure before it hits the RO. I am a novice with booster pumps. Can someone explain to me: 1. Inlet? 2. Outlet? 3. Why there are more than two connections? Thanks in advance. Please excuse my lack of knowledge. Just setting up my first system ??‍♂️

I don't have exactly the same pump. Mine is from Streamline but it's fairly similar, I'd think. Inlet is mains in. Outlet is boosted pressure to the prefilters and RO unit. Third connection, if there is one, I can't answer for. My pressure is set to just under 100 psi on the guage. I have a double 10 inch housing in line before the booster pump with two sediment filters to help increase the life of the pump impeller by catching dirt and grit. My pipework is JG 3/8 inch.

My suggestion would be to go back to the supplier and ask for fitting instructions.

The inlet is on the stainless steel housing and the outlet is the brass fitting with the pressure gauge. Why it has an additional 2 outlets on the brass fitting I don't know. If the extra 1" outlet on the side is for another boosted out then my next question is if the pump is suitable as an r/o booster pump. (I have never seen that brass fitting before.)

The electronic controller will automatically switch the pump off if used with a float switch and solenoid valve.

Hi Spruce. Thanks for your advice mate. Got it sorted. I went to Friction Hydraulics in Telford. They provided me with a ‘blanking cap’ for the extra outlet hole. Will be testing the pump out tomorrow.
