Evening everyone. I want to move more from my back pack to a proper system in my van. Besides a tank which I know I need, do I just need essentiality a pump and battery for my tank. Can anyone help me with this please. Thanks

I have...

Shurflo pump:

Spring V11 controller:

Leisure battery, can’t remember which one off the top of my head but it came from:

https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk

Initially I bought a plug in charger:

https://advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/product/g3500-smart-battery-charger/

But then added a split charge relay to the van:

https://www.durite.co.uk/s/c/equipment-and-accessories/charge-splitter-devices-and-relays/voltage-sensitive-relay

Which after using the plug in charger is now my favourite thing in the world.

Hope that helps

Word to the wise, Split Relays won't work with Euro 6 vans. So if you have one you'll need a B2B charger instead, if you go down this route.

Not questioning what you’re saying and possibly heading for a rude awakening myself but mine is a Euro 6.2 Dispatch and the Durite relay has been bulletproof thus far.. I was advised to get that specific relay though so maybe that has something to do with it

I think some Euro 6 use different systems to control alternator. I guess you have a nice simple one.

Just out of curiosity what model and year is your Dispatch as it would be handy to know which doesn't need a B2B charger.

Ahh fair enough man. Every company I spoke to said I would need one as, in their words, all Euro 6 engines need them. But I'm no expert at all!

It’s a 20 plate 2.0 diesel. Even with annoyingly non-disable able start stop the relay kicks in and out every time without fail where it should do, had it running pretty much continuously for nearly full days recently with engine off and no issues

Me either mate! I could well be heading for a red face if it all goes Pete tong but the guys that fitted it for me are mechanic mates and I trust them with pretty much anything motoring.. might regret saying that but perfect so far ?

Easiest thing to do is buy this https://purefreedom.co.uk/100psi-shurflo-pump-strainer-and-flowmaster-controller-on-back-plate.html you will need some 1/2" hose to go from the tank out let to the pump inlet then from the pump out let to the reel and jubilee clips to secure the hose,

Battery and charger options https://www.tayna.co.uk/leisure-batteries/numax/xv31mf/  and https://www.tayna.co.uk/battery-chargers/numax/leisure-12v-10a/

If you are going down the diy route for now you will need to secure the tank sufficiently and the battery as the batteries are heavy if you speak to a local windy in your area who has a van mount and would be happy to for you to have a quick look at their van mount that may help you out as you can see what is what and where everything goes.
