Just interested to see what YOUR best paying additional service is?
Obviously some do more specialised that others. But if we say window cleaning is our bread & butter, what’s your best paying ad on?

No need for long stories or detailed price lists. Just a simple ‘gutter clearing for me’ or ‘graffiti Removal for us’ (for example)  But if you think your regular window cleans are best paying for you then say

P.S To me, best paying means best profit margins as well. Some may think a £500 commercial job in a 8hour day is great, but if you’re hiring a £200+ cherry picker to do it then all of a sudden it’s a different picture...

This is an interesting and difficult question to answer but gutter vaccing and softwashing are both the addons  that bring in the most money for us but I would be hard pressed to say which is best  financially , we regularly earn very similar money per day from them , but if the last few jobs I have quoted for softwashing come off then that would be the most profitable work by far .

All our work pays about the same hourly rate. Our only ad ons are gutter emptying and soapwashes on gfs and conservatories.

To be fair, I'm thinking of just doing windows once I have a full round. I just want an easy life as I near 50.

Plus I'm a southern work shy Jessie with no get up and go.
I fully agree mate. I’m 55 and for the same reasons as you I won’t do anything other than Windows.

PW on the ground is not that lucrative and a messy job. PW roofs on the other hand is good money but you need to put down salvage sheets to make the clean up easier. FSG is good clean money but the height can be the problem. The customer is always very happy with the result and you usually get another job out of it. ?

Oh ok, how often do you do that? Challenging work? I literally know nothing about it
August to Xmas I do 15-20 sweeps per week around my window cleaning rounds. Rest of the year it averages 1-2 per week as it is seasonal work. If you have the right equipment it is relatively light work, a bit grubby obviously. Usually takes 45 mins per sweep. Can be challenging at times removing nests etc but most jobs are fairly straight forward.  Nice little earner for me and pays for Xmas and time off ?

Gutter clearing is the most lucrative. I have a minimum charge of £75 so, on some jobs, it can take you longer to setup and pack away than it takes to clear the gutters. Used to do conny roofs and FSG's too but don't like doing them anymore. Did an FSG just after Xmas and vowed it'd be my last. FSG's are good earners though. Much easier to clean windows on a 4 and 8 weekly cycle. Can go on autopilot and, once you're established, good money.

No one has said internal window cleaning.....
I've forgotten what that is! ? I hope i still know how to use a squeegee.

Internals on the right kind of work, commercial or domestic, can be incredibly profitable. Afterall its only likely costing you a squirt of detergent and perhaps a fresh squeegee blade. But they can just as easily be a nightmare.

Oh ok, fair enough. You must be very fast & expensive because I’ve never found internal window cleaning lucrative. It’s always my lowest paying service.

Gutter clearing without doubt. Did 4 in a day the other week which paid very nicely.

When I get enquiries I tend to book them in all on the same day so I can focus on gutter clearing for the day and don’t have to worry about working around the gutter vac. I haven’t the biggest van so it can get in the way!
