How many Brushes do you carry

So I've been going a few weeks now. Just looking at all the different brushes(I'm using Gardiners) just wondering how many different type of brushes you carry in the van. And which ones for what use.

I've been using the medium ultimate 26cm and the universal sill brush 26cm. Basically for everything from 1st cleans to GFS cleans and conny roofs. Your opinion/advise will be great. Cheers

We generally use Gardiner supreame stiff brushes for most jobs we find them the best brush for the work we do ideal for glass, plastic cleans , commercial building cleans . We are currently trying a couple of extreme stiff brushes and i do like them but after after only 2 days they are already showing signs of deforming so don’t think they will last long .

We still use the same brush but go gently with it have a look at this leaded job ??we have been using the extreame stiff brush on a leaded job today and it felt lovely on the glass , we always use the stiff version of brushes due to using hot but if using cold the mediums are very good brushes and feel very nice on the glass .

Wow, I'd be s*****ing myself being a newbie going anywhere near something like that. Yep I can accept the go gently bit by looking at that.

Don’t be put off by something like this it might look a bit daunting , but it’s only like a big house just break it down into bight sized chunks and price well allow longer than you think , we did this for a building company when they had finished the conversion they said it had never been cleaned and from the dirt that ran down the walls I can well believe it was black water I have never seen anything like , we now go all over the country doing stuff like this for them they think we are specialists in this type of work ???? and are happy to pay a premium price and pay for accommodation whilst we are there , we only do a handful of jobs for them but it makes a change from the normal run of the mill stuff .

Yep every respect to you mate, I'm a newbie as you are aware. Just trying to do things right. Your a seasoned pro.

In my position would you be carrying certain brushes for certain jobs mate, getting to grips with it all.

I do a listed hall every month it’s got some special listing on as there is only two in Essex within this category I use ultimate flocked and we have too be super gentle as the glass bends inwards. Have too use a low flow also as they leak like sieve.

I wouldn’t get too many brushes. The extreme sill brush is a nice brush to use, I use it 95% of the time, medium soft. I really like it. If you would like a soft brush I would get a flocked brush for leaded, you have to keep your eye on it as they tend to collect a bit of dirt, just run your fingers through it to clear the bits with the water running. I would just use those two brushes with cold water. If you use hot different choice. I have a few other brushes to be honest don’t use them much. I prefer the two above I’ve said.

I was going to say is it a virgins hall but as you're in Essex there's non of them

I use extreme brushes except,  first cleans I like a ultimate flock for them.

My son use the ultimate DuPont hybrid for just about everything apart from the really old listed buildings.

Currently using a Supreme DuPont which I find a good all rounder, also got a Super Lite flocked brush for use with chems. Will probably get a Supreme flocked as there is too little splay on the flocked brush I have now.

Also got an Extreme stiff sill brush on my 35 but will probably replace that with a medium version.

Yep I've found myself forever running my fingers through, every time I see a fair amount/lump of s***e  in the brush

Some people have every brush ever made in there Arsenal I have tried many over the years and always happy to try new stuff but dont see why so many different brushes are needed , we all have personal preference in what we like or find works well , but over the last 18 years wfp find if you like a brush it will do most jobs so others arnt needed , we have discounted many brushes for  various reasons , short bristles so the stock  hits the raised frames , and bristles don’t fit into the corners , some are way to heavy , some only last a couple of weeks , and so the list goes on , we find the bristle length, spray and bristle angle on The supreame brushes does every job we do well , glass, plastics , gutter brackets , aluminium clad commercial buildings , wooden sash , leaded , softwashing etc it’s our all round choice , when using hot water your choices are less as well due to the heat  damage of the bristles not all brushes are suitable .

We all have to learn how to do bigger and better jobs and different types of work , Ime not saying be blasé and take on stuff that you cannot do but the pictures I put up is only a very small part of the building , it’s huge and daunting when looking at the whole place but look at each little set of windows as one window and focus on that when you have done that one move on to the next  , all of a sudden that huge job is just like 6 houses and not so daunting after all . Ime sure you could do this job just look at one window at a time not the whole building.

How long do you find the extream brushes last den , we started using a couple yesterday and already today the bristles are starting to deform I do like them but think a couple of weeks and they will be ready for the bin , we are using the stiff version which according to the guide is ok for water up to 75 degrees we haven’t used water over 65 with them , they are a very nice brush but don’t see them lasting long .

Like most I have too many brushes, I carry 4 in the van but only use 2 a Xtreme medium & Xtreme flocked they for me are the only 2 brushes needed

I still have the original prototype medium soft sill brush that’s on my extreme 25 still in great shape admittedly it’s not used that much only when my 18’ can’t reach.

My other medium soft sill brush is from first release Is still in great shape I generally swap between that and 35cm extremes.

I have been using the medium soft sill basically all the time since having Hotwater but my temperatures are defo not as high as your my temp is approx 45 degrees brush end and still in great shape.

Bearing in mind I’m only recently started to use Hotwater I think they are a great brush hard wearing perfect for maintenance cleans and looking forward to the 35cm just hope Alex as managed to kept the weight down.

i carry around 8 or 9 in the van and on my 3 poles......standard xtreme brushes,xtreme sill,ultimate(26in and 35in),SL brushes,etc...

pour boiling water over them after a few weeks and theyll go back to their original shape..you should get at least 2 or 3 months out of them
