Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else suffers migraines ? Iv been having them since I was a kid but recently- the last 6 months iv been getting them pretty much once a week , i know they are often related to tension headaches and my right shoulder/ side of my neck and upper back is solid with knots so I'm due a sports massage which I used to do regularly also I stretch everyday and keep fit so I feel like I'm taking preventative measures but these are  debilitating and I end up passing out and sleeping them off .

I've not had a headache or migraine for 30 years.

I know a few people that get migraines and they seem to be more prone to being triggered by certain things. Some it's chocolate, others it's bright lights. I assume you have tried to eliminate foods causing them?

I get stomach ache if I eat anything with Tartrazine (E102) in. It's a yellow food coloring. In the 80's and 90's it was in everything from cheese, sweets to orange squash. So identifying the issue took a long time.

So might be worth keeping a food diary and noting when you get migraines to see if it coincides with anything you have eaten?

Goats cheese triggers them but apart from that I'm good with everything else, I think I need a sports massage I used to have them regularly to keep me ticking over but with the lockdown haven't had one for a year now

I went for a massage today. As she finished, she winked and asked “Any extras sir?”

I said “No, get your own chewing gum” ?

My wife gets them she us dairy intolerant or something we think we found diet was key for her to not get them and sunlight trigers them there blady horrible things to get my wife is normally 2 days some times 3 with them

My daughter is 10 and was suffering from them on a weekly basis, she would throw her guts up, then sleep for 4 hours and then wake up like a zombie and have to have time off school, shes been to see neurologists and now she has to take propanalol 3ml twice a day to reduce thwm, and as soon as she feels one coming on she has to have 1/2 a sumatripin tablet, she then goes to bed for a few hours and wakes up like nothing happened.

I suffered from migraines between 8yr old and 34yr old... I would come home from school around twice a week, have to have some pain killers and get in bed.

Saw specialist, psychologists and numerous doctors but nothing helped.

One day when I was 34 I was out in the works van with a colleague who asked me to stop at the shop. He came back with 2 x 2ltr bottles of Ice cold water.

Now I'd never been a water drinker but neither a fizzy pop drinker either.. Mainly squash or still drinks like oasis.

Anyway it was blazing hot that day he bought the bottles and from that day on I loved ice cold water.... Drank it daily and went from a migraine a week to one every year or two.

Everyone is different but the first thing to check off the list is proper hydration, drink at least 2 ltrs of still water everyday for two weeks and see if things improve ????
