Hi All!

I am brand to the game and I am just in the process of getting everything ready to give up my day job and take a run at working for myself! Its all a bit daunting!

I have a few friends in the industry and have learn't stuff from them, and have also been doing a lot of research on here over the past few months, so I thought I better sign up and start contributing to the forum (and asking lots of stupid questions!).

I'm in the process of van hunting (I'm going to go wfp set up, gutter cleaning, pressure washing etc) and I'm researching all the equipment I need. Ideally, I buy everything I need before I give in my notice at work!

Anyway, please forgive me for the stupid questions and comments in advance! ?

Good afternoon. Instead of millions of questions that have been asked a million times before all the answers are in the forum threads or can be found via the search bar at the top of the of the home page.

Or alternatively start familiarising yourself with all the suppliers websites as everything is categorised by trade

Hi Gareth , we all have to start somewhere don’t be afrade  to ask any questions but also dint forget the search bar at the top as most questions new start ups ask have been covered many times so you might find the answers are already there ,hope the new venture works out for you

Welcome but as your Avatar claims you're the external cleaning specialist shouldn't you be the one giving out advice ? Hope your pockets are deep with that shopping list. If you find a decent, cheap van you'd become liked very quickly if you told us where. Good luck with your new venture.

Absolutely! ? maybe leave it at least 2 days before I give out advice on a forum surely? Should be an expert by then if I’ve googled enough stuff! ?

Re: Vans - couldn’t agree more! Good friend of mine is in the camper conversion industry, and prices for anything half decent are absolutely through the roof at the moment!

Why don’t you get going with your window cleaning, buy the best gear to start.  Poles etc. Get cracking with that, because you can do add-ons ie Facia’s etc. Then add to it by buying other stuff later.

Definitely one of my considerations! I think that’s certainly one of the better options.

If you have friends in the trade they will help you get the right stuff, then you don’t waste money. When I started wfp I like you had friends that helped me, that was so valuable to me. I got good gear it’s expensive to get set up, it was different for me as I moved over from traditional so already had my customer base. All the best. Work hard it will pay off.

Good luck where are you located Gareth  , Be careful with your first time buys as its not Cheap , You don't want to be replacing within a few weeks or buying to much stuff and not using it , There is loads of answers on this site and they are not idiots on here Like some of the Facebook pages you get . You will get a lot of help from the guys on the Forum hope it goes well .

I am based in South Wales.

Yes, there is so much choice about when it comes to equipment! I love a bit of research and review hunting, as well as always sticking by the moto of 'buy cheap, buy twice', so hopefully that will help a little!
