So I was doing a fsg clean yesterday starting spraying it all with Tfr mix got some on the wall finished the side I was doing probably another 30 seconds and immediately tried scrubbing it off

wouldn’t budge at all ended up scrubbing the ******* for longer than I was doing the plastic clean!

how do you get this off? Customer wasn’t very happy obviously and expressed it was a specialist company that applied it however I told the homeowner what I was using and he failed to inform me the render would suck it in like a vacuum and dry immediately

never come across this before I will be much more careful as I’ve seen this render before and you can’t paint it apparently as that’s what I suggested

anyways… I still got paid ???

Oops so what I’m asking is how to get it off ?

Never Hurd if it , is it like K rend ???

One application stuff can get it all different colours looks kind of like peddle render but very straight but has holes in ? Best way I can describe it lol never have to paint it stays same colour.

unfortunately this was cream and I had red tfr so doesn’t look too clever ??

Homeowner said it has silicone in it ? Apparently only have to put it on once, colour is mixed into it before so stays so no maintenance etc . Costs a fortune no doubt

i did offer to paint it but apparently they did that before and it sent it green?

definitely won’t be paying for them to have it done again I told him what I was using before I started, he’s had problems putting stuff on it before and had to wash off with some kind of acid etc he’s a clever man , his Mrs said she painted a bit and it went green ina couple days

hes gone on holiday for a week so might go back tomorrow  and Chuck some hypo on it ?

How much of a stain have you created?

Around 2 metres across probably an inch mostly diameter but a good thick bit towards the end.

looks pretty horrendous

right above the front porch ?‍♂️
Have you looked into the chemical make up of your tfr and worked out it's component properties or contacted the manufacturer

They may suggest a method of removal
It's also tricky working out if the render will lose colour with removal of the stain

What comes to my thoughts would be rubbing alcohol or a light solvent sprayed on

I have no access to that information . I get it for next to nothing shall we say off The back of a lorry

I just wanted a quick fix it was literally 2 hour job I said I’d go back and help them reapply some more as access to it was difficult over The porch ( easily done with a stand off and know how) but wouldn’t delve into chemical make up and researching it for the sake of what they paid me

All I know is what the lad gives me is dark red and stinks of fish but works miracles on fsg or polycarbonate connys. It will stain plastic if left too long or mixed incorrectly

That's a pretty shocking and unprofessional statement.

If you have public liability insurance it's worth nothing and void if you or your equipment cause injury or damage.

Are you familiar with the safe storage transportation and handling of materials?

It's people Ilike yourself that are giving this industry a bad name

Sorry it had to be said

I'm not here to lecture anyone but I struggle to believe you are using a, potentially dangerous, chemical that you nothing about. I hope you manage to rectify this and learn a lesson from it.

Try and do a bit more research before you do your next job.
Shocking, no clue or care in the world

What is shocking that I won’t bother researching it etc?
really don’t need to know it’s ph level or it’s chemical make up I’m using it safely very careful with plants animals etc , walls I assumed could be cleaned off but obviously not in this case and yes I’m transporting it safely.

they wouldn’t expect me to pay for it to be chipped off and redone again as they said may need doing worst case scenario

ive offered to go back and assist with the removal of it if they’re struggling to get up at it providing they can find out how to remove it

they were smiling and joking when I left so really wasn’t that big of a deal I assume it can be rectified

most window cleaners I know are a lot more cowboy than I’ll ever be and would have blocked there number immediately and never gone back

You do need to know it's chemical properties if using it like you have.

Tfr is traffic film remover not for fascias etc so how do you know any damage that may be done to render etc.

Also you should be carrying data sheets for any chemicals you are using ,this will give you vital information on first aid treatment for getting it in your eyes ,ingestion, on the skin etc , also provides information for  the emergency services if you are involved in an accident , and most commercial companies will request this information if working with any chemical on there premises , it will ask tell you how the chemical should be used dilution rates  , and what not to do or use it on , it also sets you apart  from joe bloggs who uses any old products and hasn’t got a clue what they are or how to use them safely , all to often accidents happen from the very situation you have described you don’t know what you are using , is it acid or alkaline??? How does it react with water ? Is it volatile ?? If you end up in hospital how can they treat any injuries if they dint know what you have been using ?? This is something that many do without thinking about the consequences, being in the Fireservice I am all to aware of the potential dangers of this type of situation , please dont take this as a lecture but look at it as a learning curve and make the needed adjustments , next time it might not be a stain on a wall it could be far more serious .

None taken. I’m here to learn , least you can give advice mate. I like to think that sets me apart and puts me ahead . Sure I’m not the typical type who’s on here but everyone’s different if we were all the same life would be boring

if I was complete cowboy would I come and ask a Advice how I can go abouts recitifying a situation in my own time free of charge? Of course that by all rights is my fault but still. Shows willing don’t it

I don’t use any other chemicals at all. Traffic film for every additional job pretty much and good old fairy ( sure that’s chemically somewhere ?) I’ve used hypo few times in a idiotic manner and I completely understand the dangers of these chemicals which I why I use them sparingly at best

I’m sure tfr isn’t meant for plastics so the ‘instruction manual’ or chemical sheet probably wouldn’t explain how to use it in this manner as said above .
also mentioned public liability is rendered useless as using a product not intended for purpose as I’m sure we all do?

Patronising comments are funny Though I thought that was only on clean it up apparently not ?

Oh and it’s been sorted now anyway I lent them my stand off and they got it off pretty quickly by hand
