I was just wondering If your using a Water Fed Pole what is your PPM (Parts Per Million) readings!

I'm currently running at 0 ppm and hopefully it will stay there until I have to start changing the resin / filters.

Get your TDS Metres out and let me know!

3 or 400 from the tap, but get it to 0. need new membranes mind as only get about 6-700ltr at 0 and about 300 up to 10, only ro to about 30 at mo, but the're nearly 3 yr old and no booster so to spend 70 quid every 2-3 yrs is'nt bad

I was told by another window cleaner when i started, that up to 10 is fine for cleaning windows, so thats when i change, never had any complaints. Just changed the resin yesterday, so big fat zero there!. Where i am in n.e. scotland its about 180 out the tap, but i fill my tank at my parents, their tap water is 60 :-)

Your parents tap water is 60!!! So lucky. When I first started the window cleaner I bought my van from said he was running his water at 29. I personally think thats too high, I'm pretty sure it will leave spotting marks?

Yeah James, 60ppm is pretty good, but there was a thread on here a few months ago re different areas ppm, and i was amazed to read that in manchester they have about 30ppm out the tap!. With regards to using water at 29ppm, i would agree with you, that would probably leave marks. When i 1st started, because i wasnt used to it, and didnt check enough, i let my di resin go to long, it was about 30ppm when i noticed. I got 2 customers complaining about their windows and wanting to cancel. I wrote to them both, explaining my inexperience with the system, apologising for the mistake, and offering to do the next clean for free, but only one came back. Because of this, i have grown a sixth sense regarding when my resin needs changed!. But, like you, i also know a window cleaner who will happily clean at 20ppm+! :-(
