Hi has anyone got any good advice on how you go about gaining contracts with letting agents for end of tenancy cleans?

Thanks in advance

I was approached. Tbh. It aint all that. They get hundreds of letters each week from companies.

We will be used until someone else comes along cheaper.

Far happier doing regular cleans.

Neil, adyspurs and someone else does them on here.

Yeah you can earn good money. But you need to offer.

Carpet cleaning

Window cleaning

General cleaning

I put in a bill for £95 inside and out windows on a 5 bed house. Not heard back yet about payment or anything. That was 2 weeks ago.

I was there for 4 hours!!!! Sorting the outside and inside.

It was also a 2 storey house with velux windows and green framed windows.

I have never found letting agents to be worth dealing with. They want you when they want you, usually at short notice. Most expect a kickback.

Exreme Clean, you seem to be swayed very quickly....

if you believe there is a market there for yourself go for it.

The end of tenancy cleans will be few and far between,

depending on the size of the letting agents and how far

you are prepared to travel.

Visiting the agent personally with a business card is

preferable to just sending out another "me to" letter,

but again depends on how much time you have available.

At the end of the day as long as you get a price that YOU are

happy with, it matters not what other people are charging.

Winning and losing is all part of the business.

I wish you well with whatever you decide.

Robert

ps if you decide not stick to just window cleaning and branch

out into general cleaning too the attached doc may help.

[oops dont think I can attach thistype of file - email meif you want it]

.

Thanks for everyone's comments.

I've been a window cleaner for 13 years but I've always been an employee until recently when I decided to go self employed.

I'm building my business from scratch by myself so I've been considering all avenues of gaining work and building a stable business. All of your comments have been helpful.

I think I'm going to push forward with the letting agents and see where it takes me. I'll keep you all informed...

Good luck with it mate.i was in the same position as you.worked for company for many years and then went on my own.each letting agents works in different ways so it may be an idea to ring around all the local ones in your area and try selling yourself.

As damo said usually good to have window and carpet /general cleaning although neils cracked it and he seems to do really well.I've a little number with 3 agencies predominantly window and carpet cleaning although do some general cleaning for tenants privately.if you do this you must be confident that you can guarantee their deposit back.

Keep trying and also a bit of lady luck and you'll be fine.it is very competitive as some companies are advertising at £10 an hour but after labour, chemicals not really worth it so go in at a fixed price so you can crack it out as the time may come when you've a few to do in a day.

Hope this helps and also advertise end of tenancy cleaning specialist on website as I find this helps.

Keep stacking up the window cleaning like I do because the cleaning comes in handy when the rough weather comes.

Some very useful information there Adyspurs thank you.

I haven't got a carpet cleaner as of yet but plan to do so as soon as my finances allow me!

I'm more of a window cleaning guy but would like to explore all avenues to expand the company.

I was lucky,I worked for a window cleaning firm who also specialized in carpet cleaning and they sent me on a course and gained lots of experience.

I took a risk and got one a couple of years ago and has paid of especially when the cold weather comes and your window cleaning customers will use you.good luck with it mate.
