Flat Or Upright Tank?

I think i need to research this, as thats what i was thinking.

Yet if you slammed on your brakes and you have a 1000mm long tank. Its has 1000mm to slosh about it.

If it was an upright and it was 500mm long. It would only have 500mm to slosh about in.

Doing my nut in trying to design this system GRRRRRRRRRR

i got a flat tank in mine, but ony a 250lt, not moved yet and i've had to do some heavy breaking and had one lady hit the side of the van.

Have you ever thought of using an oval shaped tank?
look @ all the tankers on the road that transfer liquids most seem to be round/ oval tanks!

Looked at everything mate tbh. Struggling to find a 450/500l baffled apart from the wydales

flower pots work! just wash them in pure water first!

you have to strap the to bottoms of each pot together first

i would go for upright as lay flat tanks take too much room,

as long as tanks sercured properly it shouldnt matter,

i had lay flat in my combo and just got upright.

the space is far better now with an upright tank.

also when driving with half full tank i felt it alot more with my flatbed tank,

Gonna leave alone now for the moment. As tbh I need a bigger van really. So will hold off until next year before I blow any more money lol

I have changed my van about.

I have gone from a 350 flat to a 350 upright.

So will be interesting to see today how the van feels and how I get on with the new layout.

the lower the C of G the better, if the tanks baffled it should be fine for lateral force

are you selling your flat tank? pm me a price mate

Yeah will be selling flat tank and simple retaining cage for it.

Just re painting cage and replacing fittings and washers.

Will have a think on price.

Just got too work. No difference whatsoever except a

Bend I take at 50 I took at 40 and it was little bit more twitchy.

But that's the c of gravity for ya /emoticons/smile.png

ive got a 350 flat tank an when half full u can realy feel the water sloshing around ive got a scudo with a 1.9d slow as hell engine witch struggles when water sloshonh back to front lol, next tank will b a 500 uprite

350 flat vs 350 upright.

350 flat is more stable and less sloshing / ferry syndrome

But I got more space.

Time to add my baffles balls lol
