well that's the van serviced with a oil sump gasket replaced due to leak, oil change and air filter. had quote from garage of £140 for it, parts cost about £45.

now the engine sounds a lot better!

 
I need to change the oil sump gasket on my car but the actual gasket looked different to the sump. Cam only assume a new sump was put on at somepoint but different to factory origanal.

Waa only a tenner aswell garages were charging 100quid.

Never changed it though...

 
some use a liquid seal on them, that's what I had on mine that was leaking a bit, so I got one of those cardboard type ones,

 
Nasty jobs sump gaskets. My escort rs turbo used to blow through loads. Ran a dry sump in the end.
