GoDaddy websites?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

There's loads of wordpress themes that use bootstrap as a base now as well, so you can get all of the benefits with very little technical knowledge. Great way for someone starting out to get a half decent diy site. /emoticons/wink.png

bootstrap looks like they way to go for me but looks complicated as I'm **** at coding so might take me ages to learn /emoticons/sad.png

There's not much you have to learn Smurf - if you know HTML its very easy to pick up. /emoticons/wink.png

Have play around with one of the starter templates in getting started you be surprised how quick you can get a pro site going.

Hi everyone, happy new year!
I'm pretty much sold on the idea of yusing GoDaddy for their website service. It includes domain, design, support and SEO for about £80 per year which to me is great value (even if I dont actually "own" the site)

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with them at all?

Luffy
Does anyone have any lastest info on what site is best to use. I got my domain with go daddy and I am unsure now if to use there web builder and email service. The pricing structure confused me and its a lot more expensive than I thought.

Its 6.99 a month for web builder and 3.49 a month for email service, so £10.50 to have my web site up each month. Does anyone out there no of a decent site thats cheaper or any recommendations. I am not good at building sites, so need the builder facility. This is more a pain than I thought. What other option do I have, some free sites seem impossible to use.

Thanks.

Buy a £14.99 a year hosting package from www.tsohost.com and change the nameservers on your domain to point there - then you get email included in the price AND you can install wordpress & build a decent website. /emoticons/wink.png

Tsohost backend interface is also dead easy to use/navigate unlike godaddy which is a bloody nightmare to use.

Hi smurf, thank you so much for getting back on this. I have looked at TSO and looks good. I have a domain already at go daddy, so what else do i need to be able to build a site and have it go live? Also with the email part so i can log in to the email side of it. I am not the best at this web site stuff, so help is appriciated. Thanks

I think I will get the web builder and make the site its a free 30 day thing, so if i dont liek it i cna delete it, just not sure what i need also with the web builder, do i need the host part too?

I would go with tsohost and forget the domain name you already have with goddady for now and get another one from tshost as they are dirt cheap to buy. That way your email & domain will be setup and available on your tsohoust account automatically so all you then need to do is build your website. There are a selection of platform you could use to build your site but wordpress costs you nothing by simply logging in and selecting wordpress to install on your hosting space by following the dead easy steps. Then once installed have a play with it then watch some tutorial vids on youtube which will show you how to build a site using different themes.

Smurf, Thanks very much for the tips I have joined TSO and looking in to it. I will ahve to keep the name at go daddy as its what I want to use, family name thing. Oh well, my bad. Tbh I think I am going to far with the web site thing, i need to get out there flyering and door knocking and business facebook first and when i pick up etc or get going do the site, lots of peeps never have a site anyway. Me over thinking as a few people have told me on PM now lol

Thanks though smurf, deffo will use TSO for my site when i do it in the future. cheap also at the 14.99, thanks for the heads up.

You can still get other versions of the same domain name if available like .co.uk .com .net .uk etc etc etc. Once the site is built then you can forward your one with godaddy to the same site. Not many ppl know you can have more than one domain name pointing to the same site but I guess they do now./emoticons/biggrin.png

Cheers smurf, great advice.

Do you or anyone know whom is good to go to just to get email. At first I just want the domain name and email. I just need a provider to have a web log in and email faciality that lets me choose my email address in a professional manner. for example if i was going to call myself hype window cleaning addres would be: [email protected] - can anyone recomend a the cheapest out there that provide this please, so far I found 1&1 but not usre what package is correct, also I am sure they just transfer the domain i have over form go daddy. cheers all.

If you go into your godaddy control panel & change your nameservers to these ones you can use the existing domain name with your new TSO package:

ns1.tsohost.co.uk

ns2.tsohost.co.uk

ns3.tsohost.co.uk

If you got the cloud hosting from TSO you'll see there is a sitebuilder built into it - although wordpress is a much better option in the long run & well worth learning.

Once you've changed the nameservers above (The change can take up to 72 hours to complete) then you can setup your domain as a "domain alias" on the TSO system and all your email addresses etc can be managed via the TSO system bypassing Godaddy alltogether.

All you need Godaddy for then in the annual domain renewal,.. the website, email & everything else is on the TSO servers. /emoticons/smile.png
