Fingers crossed, I'll let it flush for awhile yet, then stick resin back in and cross fingers lol

Might not help . About two months ago I was having problems with my ppm rising after a week after changing the resin. . I changed the in / out on the di around . In became the out / out became in . Sorted it .resin lasts longer now. Haven't getting around to buying a new one yet .....

Reading the bumpf that comes with it, it says without the resin you should get about 10% of water TD, that makes it around 43, with the resin 5%, that makes it says 22.

That is still high from what I can tell, is that too high to clean with?

I always use oooppm. I change the resin when it creeps upto 001ppm. .... 22 would give you spotting ( rain water would be better to use )

Forget connecting the resin canister for now as that ro output should go down to between 2-10 ppm eventually.

Not back flushing it first has pushed residue manufacturing chems through it which is not great but let it run and see how low you can get the ppm. May take another 1-2 hours to get it down really low if not it's fooked

Yes it's possible but best just let it run overnight down the drain without the di connected to see if it goes down low or not.

Yeah that's what I am doing now, fingers crossed its OK, if not I'll have to quickly order another one /emoticons/sad.png

So just to be clear, it should go down to 10 or below with just the pre filters and RO filter? if it is above this, the RO filter is buggered and I should order a new one?

Just run the ro without the di connected bud and don't worry about it tonight. Just take a reading in the morning and let me know what it is

Well running it all night has brought it down to 22.

Which looking at the instructions is right as it says it should bring it down 95% of the tap water, which is pretty much bang on.

I am never going to get 0000 though am I just adding the resin surely?

I'm presuming you have a 10" vessel which is too small amount of resin for your input ppm. You will need to go for a larger di vessel.

Like doug says you will need at least a 11" edit 11 litre di vessel to bring it down from 22 to 0 ppm so your not changing the resin so often.

It seems that single 100 gpd ro membrane is too small to cope with your high tap water reading of 450 then.

@doug atkinson do you think using a 3 membrane small ro would make much difference or are we looking at going down the water softener route before the ro?
