I normally use a phoenix hybrid pole with a vikan brush. Recently I bought a SLX-35 with a Medium mixed dual brush. This normally only gets used once every couple of days and then goes back into the van in readiness for the next really high job.

Today I decided to use it all day even though it is a little cumbersome for all day use and I flew through my work. All finished and home by 2pm. When I went to refill the tank I was shocked to note that I still had about 200ltrs of water on board.

So,.......has the wife been slipping something in my tea to make me work faster, or could it be that the pole/brush combination has had an impact?

She slipped a few squirts of 'vision' in your tank /emoticons/biggrin.png

You think a Gardiners dual trim is more cumbersome than a Vikan?
No Tuffers, I meant the 35' pole, compared to the 22' I use for normal daily use. I don't really like the vikan much since using the Gardiners one.

Gotcha . Have you tried the Phoenix with the Gardiners brush combo at all?

No, but It might be worth experimenting with it. I can clearly see why so many of you guys promote other brands of brush over the Vikan. The Gardiners brush is a pleasure to use.

Vikan brushes used for wfp window cleaning are usually vehicle cleaning brushes. They were never intended to be used for working at height cleaning windows.

Water fed pole window cleaning brushes have been available for a few years now, the suppliers that still sell Vikan’s vehicle cleaning brush as window cleaning brushes, either do it because they don’t know better, or they do know better, but the margins are too good for them to stop doing this.

I would take two base sections off your SLX, buy a butt cap for the newly exposed section & then you can use it as a SLX 25- only adding the other sections as & when required./emoticons/wink.png The medium super-lite is a far better brush than any Vikan & a fraction of the weight. I'm looking forward to the new range of Xtreme brushes coming out early next year with 7 rows of bristles.

I thought the rectangle vikan pro red bristle non flagged brush was a window cleaning brush that's what I have used with out any problems. Might try a new one in the new year but in no rush as the vikan works for me.

Vikan brushes are like waving bricks about on the end of a pole compared to gardener brushes so you get more fatigued and all that especially on acute angles.

There really is a huge difference in the way the Gardiners performs on the glass. I like the way it splays into the corners and wipes away spider nest with ease. With the vikan I have to twist and turn the pole to try and catch the nest with the end of the bristles. It glides over the glass instead of having to force it around.

I'm going to pop out to try me orange smelling bubble making additive with a fan jetted gardiner brush that is I don't get blown away.

I'll be back hopefully /emoticons/biggrin.png

Aha gotcha yes would agree they can be heavy on high up work. What pencil jet Gardiner would you recommend?

Don't know about the difference in the pole, as both are rated. But, the right brush for the job makes a huge difference.

Personally, I don't use the Gardiner mixed med brush much, but it is a popular brush. So, different people have different preferences too.

There are a couple of Gardiner brushes I like, and a couple from Richard who posted on this thread. He makes the Tecbuk brushes.

I have one vikan brush, which is lying in the van unused as its horrible to work with compared to the others I use.

I used a Gardiner pole etc yesterday as I met a guy whom does WFP and used it and checked the work done. Wow I was impressed, I really was and was easy to use, He also had the blue bananna one cnc and other have I had a go and that awsome too. I really am interested in WFP now, The trigger things are good as that saves water, the yellow trolley one did not turn off, but was really good and did a perfect clean. Makes one think. But those gardiner poles and the good brushes are really kool. Lovin my experience properly using a WFP system.... The guy was on about get the right pole and brush it all makes a difference to speed and clean.

So is vikan, not that reputable? I was looking at the Kobold system and its tempted me. But need to look into what brush to put on. The gardnier was deffo beter to use and could tell, but the Kobold was not much different for the costing.

All good for a visit to the darkside, maybe not so dark now, well for me:)
