Which van?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

I don't understand how people get through a day with just 150l. Even if you only use 2l a minute, that's only 75 minutes cleaning of windows, what can you earn in 75 mins?!

Dunno, I only get through maybe 10-15l per house. Easily do 10 houses a day on 150l, that's £100 minimum and only a few hours work.

Works for me as window cleaning isn't the main income anyway it is just a nice regular bit of money which supplements my pressure washing/gutter cleaning.

Would of thought 250 would be enough for a days work? unless you have pump running full blast and never turn it off lol
No, a 250L tank isn't big enough IMO. I have a 500L and I do come close to running out sometimes, never have, but sometimes I reckon there's only 75L left some days.

I'm just wondering now if theres something i should do different. I have the tap on my belt so switch water off when moving between windows, i'm not even aiming for a 'curtain of water' when rinsing (like i did when first started). To be fair i have been thinking of getting a digital water meter so i can see how much water im actually using.

allways go for a bigger van ide say the smallest ide go for is a disspatch size ive got a vivaro 2.0cdti lwb luv it to b honist it pulls like a train huge in side i have a 500l tank in mine plenty of room for a vac if i want one or pressure ect ,small vans r ok if ur trad with a little bit of wfp but the payload soon gets eatin up few ladders on the roof an your over ur limit

I have considered getting something like this. Remove half the seats but leave in enough so it can be a day van. Put in a partition wall after the seats. Put in a flat tank with a shelf over the top to store kit. Very low milage. A useful truck for £2000-£3000. Get the rear side glass blanked out in vinyl/sign write as you see fit.

My pick up does around 30-35mpg, would like to get more than that if possible if I do go the van route. Fuel is probably my biggest business expense.

I think my Transit gets 28mpg, if you are earning well the fuel costs are not a major issue.
Oh yeah its not a major issue, but if you can do the same thing for less then why not lol.
