Maybe I'm on my own here in my little world of OCD, but thought I'd ask if anybody has a real delight and satisfaction in ensuring every little mark and scuff is buffed off a uPVC frame and the colour if white brought back up to like new when doing a first clean, I find I spend way too long making sure their perfect and if I spot a tiny little mark I have missed I have to do it! Sometimes not at all cost effective to my business but I always think in the long run they will be far easier each time on and also alot of customers are over the moon and find they rec me to everybody they know, so maybe its working out better in WOM business than if I just spent less time ??

If the price is right I put my OCD head on...

That's another reason why I price a lot more for one-offs/first cleans and generally a higher price for regular cleans than most cleaners around my way.

You can gain loads of customers going overboard on jobs but you need to price accordingly or you will end up out of pocket.

I could do with you round my house as our windows a mess!

It's a funny old world since they invented boats and planes @Tuffers as there are probably more aussies living over her now than the british convicts they got rid of over there. /emoticons/biggrin.png

I do a thorough job on first cleans and ubik or virosol the frames and sills and a quick scrub with old porky usually takes the grey stuff off but i don't go ocd

If they are stained or tiger striped after i then say to them i have given your frames and sills a good going over also but they won't come up better than that without being restored

"Thanks..what do you mean restored?"

Queue the sales pitch and maybe another paying job from them

I tell them when i quote that i always wipe the sill and frames over so that is what they expect so the scrub with chems is going the extra mile as far as they are concerned and they thank me for it even if not 100% good as new

I used to go OTT on the first clean, and it would take me ages. But now I clean them with the intent of catching anything missed on the 2nd or third clean. I find it much more profitable and efficient then trying to get it all off in a one'er. The custy will still be just as impressed.

I've not tried ubik or viro on a 1st clean yet, used it so far only on gutter jobs and conservatories I might try them this week as got a few to do, does it rinse fine from the glass in diluted form as not to leave any residue behind? Might do up a spray bottle and spray all over the frames and see how I get on, then would you say spray over the brush to do the upstairs ones? Been using a upvc spray cleaner but using ubik would be much cheaper I guess.

Done a large bungalow today, (first clean), nice little double up on monthly price! didnt like the leaking black seals though!! New custie said "they dont mind how there cleaned, as long as there clean" well WFP it is next month then. :)

I now would not do a first clean for less than double thanks to all on here for making that decision for me

And...I am not so ocd anymore as I tell them all the frames sills will get better with time and after all...they shouldnt have let them get dirty in the first place...

I did one recently for £25 but I knew it would be a not so often clean. normally a tenner...but she did say..oh I havent had it cleaned in the three years since I moved in.../emoticons/biggrin.png

went to one this week to price...oh yes I will call tuesday I said and hes said I will be in.. put it in the sat nav and its only a one up one down terraced...

no one in....and....side gate locked so how the heck can I see whats around the back.

oops I seem to have lost that number../emoticons/biggrin.png..

I am like yourself, I do try to get them really clean, but as clean as you can get them just cleaning and not deep restoration style. I like t get all the dirt out etc, but now I am toning down a litle and not OCD on it, but stil a good caring clean. I would take 45 -50 mins on a house first clean. I do however think that all vents and frames should be cleaned fully and all normal dirt marks taken off, ok the greying etc thats a different clean in price an work load. Good on you, proper job will keep the customer happy and your next clean is easy. I am just getting my first cleans out the way now and doign 2nd cleans and its a different job now, so much easier, I can not wait till i have a full round and all first cleans are done, much easier job than the start. /emoticons/smile.png

Yep I love cleaning everything I see! I keep a spray bottle of virosol neat, and spray it all on the brush for anything above ground level, and spray on the frames and sills on the ground. Works a treat and comes up great. Good rinsing and it finishes shiny and clean. Use tfr in a backpack for anything really tough.

A first clean I find is well worth the extra time to get it looking good ,the real money earning starts after

Within reason..i do a thorough job but there is a difference between good first clean and losing time and money

Have to find the right balance

This is how i do a first clean

By spraying the ubik on the glass as well you don't get any **** to scrape off after

The customer will be well happy with this quality of clean and not taken forever to do

Also notice the 0 detailing as i am so good lol
