Heard rumours Aquadapter have gone bust - is this the case??

If you call their office between 3 and 5 - all you get is answerphone.

Placed an order 29th June - money taken - no delivery.

No response - just answerphone on phone line

Send email - no response.

Tried new phone number on their new Ex-Ceed website - Answerphone again

Address is the same as one on Aquadapter.

Always loved the product - Service completely rubbish.

Now being forced to look for alternatives - what do you guys think is best??

Said it a million times, get a 'one shot' see other thread on it,

If that's true about exceed then that's sad news...

Who told you they'd gone bust?

I would recommend the AquaTap as a Tap attached to the pole. No loop, no hose joint and on/off without moving your hands from the pole.

Had a few people say "how do you turn the water on and off." I just say its magic /emoticons/biggrin.png

I have aquatap is a great device, but doesnt work that well with me, with new gardiners supreme brush, so I'm thinking of the one shot now.

Seems they are still in business after all.

Finally had a reply to email sent 3 days ago - which i will happily share with you -

"It's Been Posted"

succinct.

Hi @windowsurfer Im thinking about buying the Aquadapter and Ive literally just ordered some supreme brushes and then just spotted your post, whats the issue your having with the brush/adapter combo?

Hi here is part of email I received from Gardiner regarding aquatap n supreme, it works great with other stockier brushes.

I have also mentioned to the Technical Team about the Supreme brush working with the Aquatap and they have responded as follows:

It is probably because the Supreme is not as wide as the Super-Lite brushes so it provides less leverage for switching the Aquatap on and off.

Hope this helps.

The problem with steve from Aquadapter is he is a one man band and needs help, he is a very nice bloke and also a very clever bloke but a **** salesman he trys to take to much on so you get rubbish service I don't think he will ever change

Mark.......I believe Steve's brother works with him at Aquadapter/Exceed Innovations.

So If You order an Aquadapter do you get the hose with it as well or do you need to order it separately??
You need to order it separately depending on how much you want (length of pole). Its a hose specifically made so it has very little stretch. You pull the hose to switch the A/D on and off.

In a gratuitous scheme to boost my post count, I'll mention here, too, that I ordered my Aqua-dapter yesterday and got it today

Sorry for late reply. Just finished an internal clean and got home at 10.45. Been a busy day - I'm buggered.

I've just had a look on their website. They supply 2 types, the orange and the red, both 8mm OD.

We use the orange as we are only using cold water and its fine.

I have also got the red on one pole and I prefer it. Its slightly stiffer as its designed for use with hot water. It's long lasting - I bought a coil of red and orange a couple of years ago for 'stock' and haven't touched it yet. We have 4 A/D's on the go at the moment including one on an SLX 40.

We use EZ snap connectors from Gardner's but A/D also do some - Rectus 21. We use a Female 8mm Rectus 21 for our Minibore hose. (If you use Microbore then the 6mm Female Rectus 21 is the one to go for. Pick barb size from the drop down box.)

http://aqua-dapter.co.uk/product/end-stop-female-socket-connector-rectus-21/

You would then buy a 6mm male Rectus 21 for the A/D pole hose.

or

http://aqua-dapter.co.uk/product/male-hosetail-stainless-steel-6mm-rectus-21/

The 7-9mm O Rings work to tighten the hose onto the fittings. They need to be 'encouraged' on.

To Protect these fits add a set of 360 Protectors. For £3 + VAT a set they will stop the end of the connectors from getting damaged. Highly recommended.

Order a couple of replacement springs as they are a wearing part. (They seem to be much more durable these days but have to replace them about once a year.

http://aqua-dapter.co.uk/product/galvanized-spring/

and one of these;

http://aqua-dapter.co.uk/product/aqua-dapter-trigger/

I would also order a couple of these. They are cheap. On one A/D we had to insert one into the end of the orange hose to give the connector a firm bit of hose the hold onto. You most likely will not need to use it. (When A/D's first came out we had yellow hose and we had to fit inserts into the end on each length of them. But if you do need one then the postage will be make each insert quite expensive.)

The hose coils up quite firmly. I love that as it coils up nicely when putting the pole away in the van. The downside is that you need to spend a couple of seconds uncoiling it before trying to extend your pole. If you don't do this the hose with tangle up at the bottom of your pole.

IMHO Aquadapter is one of the best inventions in the wfp market. It will pay for itself with water and time saving in no time. Those 360 protectors are also on that list toward the top. Follow fitting instructions and they work great.
