Help Support WCF:

The one in the pic will be fine if you have somewhere to store the water. I've got a cheap one like this. Get a booster pump for about £50 to increase your mains pressure and produce pure faster then straight into an IBC tank which holds 1000litres (got one off eBay for £60 delivered) and jobs a goodun! Has done me fine for the last year. Will prob upgrade at some point but it's a good starter.

Try this from E Bay..

Your first purchase must be a genuine hand held tds meter.

Once you have tested your water quality (soft to hard) then you can decide on what r/o you need. If you live in a soft water area and you are on a water meter, then it could be cheaper to only use a DI vessel and resin to purify your water.

Where are you based?

As per @macca you need a reasonable size r/o if that's the way you will have to go. IMHO the smallest you should have is a 300 GPD processing water into a 1000 liter IBC tank.

In future, a 300GPD unit is easily and cheaply upgraded to a 450 GPD by adding another membrane using a membrane housing upgrade kit and the restrictor.
