Hi Question for other traditional window cleaners

If a new customer calls you up and accept your prices but the other window cleaners in that area dont like or want you being in there patch... what do you do or say or do you just ignore it

welcome on here Alan Kirwin

How do you know other windys dont like you or want you in their 'patch'?

price undercutting can be a cause of contention

i would do what your doing as it doesn't take any b-lls shouting from a moving car

i.m.o.

Jealousy is a curse it amazes me people arnt happy seeing other people work ? Better, then watching people get a cut of your paycheck on the dole at least that's what happens here in aus

Ignore them, there le no such thing as s patch, your free to work wherever you want, that is a rare case, there probably thugs or the like... Just carry on...

F**k em! Tell em bolloks! Lol

Down to the customer who owns there property who they choose to clean there windows

I've never had it but being 6.3 18 stone covered in tattoos helps lol

its a free enterprise.one golden rule.never willingly undercut another window cleaner.even though some **** have done it to me.a good winter will sought the men from the boys.

Just wave and smile back to them it will infuriate them more. Or if they can see and even here you A "Hello" with the thumb up.

Since I have been going I have had one windy get snotty with me while I was leafleting and I still wave him when passing.

I also try and talk to as many local windys as possible.

Just keep doing a top notch job and don't worry about what other people say or do.

Mostly, but not all, verbally aggressive people are mostly chicken :turd: .

F o o k e m

I'm not quite as tall as @Eviestevie but big enough to take no :turd:

Take no notice bud

You can always insert your squeegee in an uncomfortable orifice if they start

Probably no balls to get out and say it to your face

I was bullied for 2 years at senior school until i lost it once and chinned one of the twins who were the hardest in the year and became best mates with them..geezer apologised aas he was slagging off my mum like kids do and pushed me to it

He could have battered me if he wanted

Anyway i digress..my point being i can't stand bullies of any sort and you have to ignore it as you still have to put food on the table whether they want you there or not

If it comes to it a swift kick in the nuts and then the heel of your palm straight in the nose krav maga stylee will stop anyone so don't worry

Or the sensible way like @green says phone the old bill and explain they're trying to intimidate you if they carry on

I know which i would prefer lol

Thanks some good advise I believe customers pick who they want and iam there cause customer never seen a windy around plus I give a good service no complaints so far

You have every right to work where you want and the customer decides whose job it is so sod em mate

I work in roads that have several windies

1 particular road i do i reckon there must be about 7 or 8 of us

Thing is we always chat if we see each other

It has been known for there to be 3 or 4 windies stood chatting round there

50k ish houses and maybe 20 windies in the town

Enough to go round methinks

They can't be that bothered about you being on their patch if they didn't even bother stopping the car and have a little chat about it. Stick your thumb up to them everytime you see them from now on.

I had a pair of Jeremy kyles finest call me up a few months back after they had one of my leaflets through their letter box, telling me to stay away from that area, both giving it large on the phone, going slash my tyres, find where I live beat me up, beat the mrs up, blah blah blah, I have since put a canvasser in that area and picked up a few more there, always wonder to myself if they will show up as I am cleaning one day but so far not a sniff from them. Prob just a pair of dole dossing morons with a old ladder and dirty chamois leather on the shoulders that charge about 3 quid a house. **** em I say it's the customers choice.

I remember your post..not heard a peep from them?

These types are mostly pussies

I have an advantage that i learnt to fight in the army and boxed since i was a kid..been learning krav maga on and off for years but with these types it's all irrelevant. .don't back down and keep doing what you're doing and they won't have the balls to have a pop

It's all mouth and an attempt to intimidate you out of the area

Chin up bud and canvass as much of "their" area as possible
