What to do in the rain ???

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Got asked when it was raining not to do the guest house I do, told the guy (he's not the one who took me on) it's only a light drizzle and I'm cleaning the muck off the glass not drying them, said not to bother just the same. Went on holiday for a week which meant they weren't done for another 2 weeks, the woman was livid when I went back and said "not to listen to that D ick again". Her words.... When she took me on she was adamant that I wasn't to forget about her Windows. Havnt cleaned in the rain as of yet but the run isn't big enough to mean I'm out everyday.

I've cleaned all day today in the rain on a new customer all day

But sometimes if it's heavy heavy rain I'll have the day off book work, house work etc

Some windies claim to earn 40-50 hour then when it rains!o my god panic stations!!!!!i budget all year for the winter but really my wage never fluctuates that much

Rainy days are good for new customers, helps to rinse all the shite off, and they'll be chuffed regardless as the change will be dramatic anyway. That said I only did one new one today before battoning down the hatches. /emoticons/biggrin.png

Yeh jake me too haha tell the wife I'm working and just go for a breaky then say I get rained off.
Tench I drive a white transit van with white powder coated wheels it hasn't got sign writing tho. I even think I asked you once if you had some work for sale on Exeter raid in tignmouth.
o i think i rember now yes that was a long wile bk havent sin u since we will ave to ave a chat next time we meet small world defo

I got soaked today fishing up near wisbech

I will always work in rain and my customers know it

It doesn't affect the finish in the slightest

Strong wind and rain is different as the **** gets blown on to the glass but 99% of rainy days there is no reason not to work

I had a cusomer who once said can you clean my windows on a certain day. I said it it going to rain and she said so what difference will that make. Well there you go, no difference at all WFP. But I hate trad cleanind in the rain.

so why would you or would you not work in the rain...

if you are wfp:

many in england i understand harvest rainwater for window cleaning. i have measured the rain water here (winnipeg, canada) after running down my roof along the gutter and downspout it measures about 10 tds...PURIFIED WATER. I could use it to clean their windows!!

rain doesn't leave marks, dirt leaves marks, when rain hits dirty windows it gathers dirt into it's droplets and dries leaving what people call water spots.

i explain with my water fed pole system there is nothing left on the glass to create spots, no soap residue and no dirt. i tell them if it raining a bit that has no effect on the cleaning but if it is heavy rain we may cancel as we don't want to muck their yard or come into their home dripping wet and muddy and if there is lightning it is not safe.

Well it's absolutely horsing it down up here and guess where I'm off to!!! Wiping down gutters and fascias again at the care home.

Why Wisbechistan of all places?

Because i drove round that area working for my mate a while back and saw lots of likely pike spots on the great ouse

I don't sit and fish i walk about and hunt pike and like out the way areas as no one around to tell me i need a day ticket etc while i walk about..if it's a bad spot jump in the motor and try up the road

Wasn't actually wisbech but some villages between downham market and wisbech

A bit far from you isn't it?

Took me an hour 15ish to get to downham but passed Cambridge

I came back the other way past Peterborough and on to the a1 to see if that was any easier

Depends how desperate you are for work really. I've always thought if we have a really bad spell I'd ring all my customers telling them about an imaginary winter special I'm doing on gsf and it's usually x Ammount but doing it for this much (usual price)

And if you've already exhausted your customer base I'd knock doors with same offer. Hell of a lot of dirty gutters compared to windows...........

Can also do the same with pressure washing...........

Again depends how bad you want it. What you sow you shall reap and all that. Try to see the rain as a challenge to see how much work you can get
