Gardiner endcap

Whats best way to remove endcap of of a gardiner pole been trying but it stuck.

Bought an extension so need to remove it by hand when i need to put the extension on ond off

My best way is to use a small hammer , run it up and down towards the end cap edge.

No i havent will try again tomorrow but should i not be able to take it off by hand so i can take endcap off whilst working to fit and take away the extension as and when needed?

I use rubber gardening gloves in order get a better grip, usually works for me. Something like these:

Brute force, red in the face, twisting motion whilst wearing grip gloves.

I have used a screw driver before......but I'd still be wary of using any tools on it.

Just gotta be patient - it'll come off eventually.

I have a set of plumbers pliers and I gently tap the end cap on 2 sides until it budges a bit then remove by hand .

Hi Halton

When new the end caps can be quite stiff to remove - the best way to remove for the first time is to heat the end cap up. You can do this with boiling water, a hair dryer or a heat gun.

After the first removal they usually come off far more easily in future. What I recommend is once removed to spray the end of the section with a little dry-film PTFE spray before replacing the cap.
