Floor protection

Picking up a new van tomorrow but this ones got no ply lining as my previous ones have just the bare metal. What's the best way to waterproof it? Can't afford to speed liner it on anything like that so looking for a diy soloution. Looked at other threads but there mainly about ply lined vans. Is protecterkote any good straight on to metal?

Thanks for the replies. Do you have to do anything special to prep it?

just give it a brush or hoover and make sure there is no grease or oil on the surface
