Fitting TDS meter

I’m going to fit an inline TDS meter and had a Google of a few videos to see how easy/hard it’ll be . I came across this video on YouTube .
He seems to be fitting it after the fact the water has already gone into the tank . Or am I missing something here. I thought it would need fitting after the filters not when it’s hitting the pump.

Dave might be filling his tank with low tds tap water and just DI after the tank. So measuring tds might be after the DI?

Yes that’s what I was thinking .

If you want to know what your tap water tds is, then use your tds meter. That the way as per @Part Timer I work mine.
