Cutting channels

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Cut a blade like this once and just found it hard to control in corners ,mine got stuck and I found myself lifting it from the glass

It just needs a slight change in technique when it does that

i think it is harder for is who have done it for ages to change our style a bit but after a while it becomes habit

Luckily i already worked that way

it is worth it when you see the difference in quality

When my channel stabs into the side of the frame i change how i work

I start in top corner and go down about a squeegee length then lift off and restart in same corner but at the side

Then it has dried the top and side where you have started and no stabbing into the rubber/frame

Picked that up off a polzn bladz vid

bought one of these for holding my channels while cutting them. And i want to do a bit of plastic surgery like H Man. https://www.aldi.co.uk/en/specialbuys/thur-5-feb/product-detail/ps/p/suction-vicetable-vice/
I have been looking for one of these for ages, but couldn't get to Aldi, and my wife said she wasn't going this week, and I wasn't sure about asking her to go. So I knew these offers go very quickly at Aldi and Couldn't get over myself this week, but my lovely wife went today and bought it!! As I enter her on my accountants as assistant, I think I'll give her a raise.

There are various ways of doing it. You can start by going up to the far corner and bring the squeegee all along the top edge and go down the near edge as far as you want and then slide back up to the far corner and go down that side. I do this all the time. If I'm doing a large window I will often go to the corner of the upper left and go across the top and carry on down the right side to the bottom, then slide up across to the top left and down the left side to the bottom, then squeegee the centre. I also use this if it is a particularly large window, because you can do it in sections.

I used to start and go up and across too but the modded channels like to dig in (stab) on the way up which is why i changed
