Wink2202 I called diwrnach an idiot because every reply I made to him he dodged it all and spun off in a different direction. Sure it was a frustrated cheap shot, but if anyone takes offence to the soft insult idiot then they shouldn't ever visit a football ground, go to the pub after dark etc, he's a big boy. He made the point about dna and I read his article and then he dodged my response and went off on one about religion. He wants to go back to the ice age to show who 'belongs' here and then its first come first served. Thing is I doubt there are many 'pure' bloods left, if any, if that matters to anyone. Then his reaction to the picture was to try to argue where the boy was from and say the dad was stupid and to blame! Who says that seriously. I feel sorry for his poor dad, I choose not to insult him, but then saying the word idiot gets more of a reaction from everyone and diwrnach gets the sympathy instead, baffling! I'm sure many have seen it, but it puts home a different viewpoint of the situation to the pictures diwrnach was posting. How is it out of order posting it, bury your head in the sand if you'd rather.
I never once said religion is the be all and end all and best thing before sliced bread. I agree, religion sure does cause the world alot of grief, but everyone still has the right to believe what they want to. If it leads to violence then its bad, but people have to accept their own responsibility for the bad and not blame religion or a country and everyone else associated with them for others actions. Look up diminished responsibility. The uk went to war on many occasions, say iraq for example, did everyone agree (choose any of the times)? No. Should everyone in the uk be blamed for it? I would take offence if I was blamed for them personally.
Sure all points you made about you not getting help is bad and I wish you would of got help, but over someone else? Thats debatable, just because someone is from somalia makes them no less a human in need. I do not know her situation so I cannot comment further. But I would guess you both required help. I'm glad you all who were in trouble and hard times got back on your feet. Thats just what all these refugees and even migrants are hoping for too.
I believe in freedom of movement, not metaphysical borders dictated to me by someone else. I was born on the earth and the earth is my home. As it is everyone elses. Sure everyone needs a little space, like a home, but not a country defined by colour, religion or whatever else. Whether you like it or not the earth is all of ours. And if someone disagrees with me and tells me I have to stay where I was born or where my great grandfather was born then thats their perogative, but its mine to not listen and make up my own choice. As long as I am not hurting anyone else, physically, mentally and so on, I am morally entitled to live my life wherever I please, as is everybody else. If we have to seperate people, I would like to do it by people who are kind and open-minded vs nasty and dog eat dogs, rather than religion, colour and so on. Although of course we have to respect all, so here a paradox lies. I think we should help all that we can, not just people who's dna can be traced back pre-viking and believe our 'country' is better without change and everyone else should stay out. Think about that next time you are in hopsital on the nhs and getting treated, taken care of and operated on by a foreigner to save your life. Oh yeah because we 'need' them so its ok, but if we don't need them they can **** off.
Just like we can take, take, take whatever we like as we are so superior to the rest of the world, but still have the view of not helping. Thing is we do help and we have a large aid budget and thats all good, although their were cries before the election to axe it which was disgusting. We are at the front of the line when it comes to dropping bombs from planes, we should be leading the line from a humanitarian perspective too.
