At nearly £40 they seem expensive but I have saved more than that in water bills over the year I've had mine fitted. Gardiner's Gooseneck Valve is also good for saving water. However, though it's easier to fit it's a little less versatile in my experience and although I liked using it I don't recommend it on Xtreme poles.
The very nature of the Gooseneck valve means it requires a little down pressure on the pole to keep the brush in place whilst it is operated, otherwise the brush just flips over on the glass. This is not an issue when using the pole at lower levels but when at full reach it's a different matter. It puts quite a bit of stress on the joints. Especially the one just above the bottom section. On a new SLX or CLX this is probably not a problem as they are very sturdy poles. However, just before the holiday I broke my two year old SLX18 just above the bottom section when using it at nearly full reach trying to turn the Gooseneck valve on over a large front porch.Agree - but just out of interest: why don't you recommend with xtreme poles? I'm using it with an xtreme so interested in potential issues to look out for /emoticons/smile.png
They are fine for fascias etcI was thinking of getting an Extreme 22 especially doing so many Fascias and Conservatory Roofs to make life easier on shoulders and neck but just can't take the risk if you can break one with a valve fitted it's not going to stand up to being banged against boards.
