Preparations for winter

What you need a flask for?? Surely you get offered at least 10 cups of tea a day from your customers?! Last thing I'd want is ANOTHER one!!
I get lucky on the odd occasions, but unfortunately most of my customers are working professionals that are out during the day, so I'm left to fend for myself.

Seriously? I genuinely get offered loads...but I guess that's lonely old ladies for u! The worse thing is the odd few who make a cup of tea right in front of u whilst you're doing their kitchen window in the freezing cold and DONT offer! Like they're taunting you!

I get a few from the friendly ones that are in, but I work in some posh areas and they all work long hours. I have many customers that I've never even met, but pay on time so thats what matters. I think its the rudest thing going when someone puts the kettle on and doesn't offer you one-makes them a prime target for a price increase in the near future.

I get offered a cuppa really often, thing is I don't like tea or coffee and I always get looked at like I am some kind of weird alien lol.

My winter prep is wearing a base layer under my clothes got mine from sports direct, brilliant at keeping your temperature stable, I get warm when working and get cold quick if not moving around for long, base layers seem to help keep me stable:confused:.

I need to get some new boots, as mine are leaking and stinking when wet, was looking at Screwfix boots http://www.screwfix.com/p/hyena-ravine-waterproof-safety-boots-brown-size-11/1843d# seem pretty good and a decent price.

I wore my snowboard trousers last year, as they keep your legs nice and cosy and dry, think I got mine from tk maxx so not that dear.

Like the idea of the gloves mentioned, got sealskinz but falling apart and my wife pinches them when working with me.

A scrubbing brush; to get the carbon and cr4p off your hands. Wet weather and WFP means sh1tty hands. My hands have been black this week /emoticons/sad.png.

Yeah mine have as well, using more cloths now to wipe my hoses down as i reel in, even had my first encounter with dog :turd: today! That was nasty on my hose :hey:

You're welcome matey:thumbsup: I got to use mine today for the first time, got about 5 lovely hot cups out of it.

If anyones looking for a recommendation for a mug for those cold days in the van I can wholeheartedly recommend this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thermos-Thermocafe-2010-Steel-Travel-Mug-0-4-Litre-NEW-183344-/121090295686?pt=UK_Home_Cookware_Food_Storage&hash=item1c318b4786

I've had this exact one before but I lost it somewhere in the house move, so my new one arrived in the post today. It stays hot for ages if you keep the lid on, I usually have a couple of sips on the way to the job, and do a couple of cleans before getting stuck in.

Its good mate. 5 good sized cups aint too bad, coupled with the mug above and you are good to go for the day. Any more then that and I'm pi$$ing like a racehorse.

And now you tempt me with a thermos mug tolish :specs:rofl::rofl:
Its half the price of an average clean mate, you should be in the checkout of ebay right now.../emoticons/biggrin.png

One thing that might come in handy too is to have a winter fund put by as you never know how bad each winter will be.
