i did my first water fed pole paid job today, first clean type with green sills etc.

The rear upper floor windows are above a 2m or so extension, so my pole was at a very almost horizontal angle, and I couldn't see the bottom half of the windows or sills, I had to do them by feel.

Is it safe to use the slx 22 at this kind of angle, is there a risk of snapping, it felt quite bendy at full extension! Not to mention the arm workout, maybe it's me that's at risk of snapping :-/

They didn't want ladders used or climbing on the flat roof, and were ok with it not being a 100% job on those two windows cause of the difficulty

hmmm that just goes to show that wfp isnt always that easy....

I dont know much but I have one like that and so I just trad it..

I ER frank has been known to stand on garden chairs at times.../emoticons/biggrin.png

To be honest most window outside sills can be cleaned by the customer from the inside so is no big deal if you can't see what you are doing.

You can only try your best with a wfp on awkward angles especially if they insist no ladders or roof walking is allowed nor should you really need to. Pvc restoration should not be included so a quick wash over is good enough in my book on tops.

I have 3 like that lol. They are amusing no idea what they turn out like. I use step ladders on a couple to get the height and reach over the extension. These custiez will dropped eventually though too much hassle

I certainly wouldn't need a gym membership after a few of those jobs

:)

Thanks for tips. They said they weren't too worried, especially the sills which theyre happy to do from inside. They are just worried about the flat roof walking.

I did eye up the garden furniture to think about a hop up, but then I remembered Frank, and thought id rather try and be Arnold than Frank on this one ;-)

I'm happy to let Frank help you and CNC out for a bit, I'll work with Arne /emoticons/smile.png

getting no response to my local ad's, may have to do the dreaded canvass if I get nothing in the next week. That or hire the red arrows to do an 'eat at jims' flyby

I have some really awkward reaches to do above deep ground floor pitched roofs etc. I don't use a swanky pole like an slx so I can rest it on the roofline. Can nacker the pole if not careful though and use that as a fulcrum. Alternatively if required I can stick a ladder up and work from the ladder using a wfp

Sounds quite similar. I was thinking of making a fulcrum point protector with a piece of polystyrene. But would prob just do a frankie and pop off into the gutter. When I first saw it I thought I'd be able to go up from the side angle but there was no visible angle in practice.

I even thought about using a rod rest at one point fixed to a ladder. That is the type that has rollers on.

yeh I did one balanced on the chair and left bits of banana on the edge of the roof tiles so not doing that again ...couldnt be bothered to use ladders either...so...I scrambled out of the inside as I do that too...

yesterdays was great on the conny as there was a nice fancy bit to rest it in just like smurfs rod roller rod rest...which by the way..is a great idea...after all thats what the fishermen including my dad do..../emoticons/biggrin.png

That would be a pole roller I would imagine.

I "walk" the brush up the wall or whatever to do those then just muscle it, do quite a few like this, also as above I will use roof lines, gutters or whatever I can to bend the pole towards me to rinse off the glass as well.

Worth mentioning a lot of these wfp poles are just fishing poles adapted a bit. And as such are ******* strong.

I did a bit of roof walking yesterday and one part of the flat roof was very sponge like the chipboard had gone. I was expecting frank to say "hello I just pop in through your roof. Can you please now stop laughing and call me an ambulance theirs a good chap." /emoticons/biggrin.png

Or do it when they're out and do a bit of roof walking:whistle:

I don't think they're ever out :-/

i think cause carbon fibre looks a bit like textured PVC pipe, I've tended to look at it as delicate, but it's not. There's a reason to pay hundreds for it and not use any bit of material
