Im not sure about the rest of you but i always do frames as makes tge whole lot look much better. Also saw a post somewhere on here which made a lot of sense clean, canvass, cull. get some newer customers in a higher rate and then increase price on the older ones. you may loose a few but then take on another at the price yiu want. a bungalow sacked me off for increasing fron £5 to £7 (hadnt been increased in three years) wasnt happy and ten minutes later picked upba house only slightly bigger for £10. the bungalow was trad and the house wfp which took same time if not less.

I'm still unsure about the direction I want to go. Alot of people are telling me not to do frames and charge it as an extra. So if a house has say 7 windows I should charge it between £7-£8.75 for glass only and perhaps charge frames at an extra £4-£6? It would be easier to get alot of glass only customers together.

Plus you will get dirt running form the top of the frames.

I got the round from the pervious cleaner and they are all really bad. If i decided to clean them I'd be cleaning a house for customers who only got glass done and then clean the frames for free for only £5.00

Although I do see where you are coming from and it would make me feel better about leaving and known the customer would appreciate it,or so I hope.

I'm in the south and never heard of a windy doing glass only with WFP. Clean frames make the job look lovey. But your price are very cheap. I charge £17 for. 3 Bed house. Inc frames and doors. But in all depends on the area you live in. Say to the custy your price is for glass only but for £2 more I can clean the frames. Sell it to them. I'm sure they will be happy with that.

I don't have a wfp I do traditional. I agree with what you're saying Ill tell them I'll clean all the frames for an extra fee.

The only thing I'm thinking about is any new customers make the frames included in the price so that I always clean them for the new ones. Means I'd get more pay per job, less walking and less ladder work.

What do you think? All my customers ate 2-4 weeks for glass only. I couldn't change them all to frames for extra.

Now that i'v got the run I'm now doing a minimum of £1.00 per window and £6.50 is the lowest I'd do for a job.

How would you explain this to customers? So they have 8 full windows I'd say it costs £8.00 after the first clean. The first clean would cost you say £12-14?

You say the price will be £8 every 8 weeks. But there in a very poor condition and to get them to a good standard there will be a first clean price of £16. I've never had a problem as people can see how dirty they are. You can also say that on the first clean. It will take twice as long hence twice the price. Also this get rid of any window shoppers who have them cleaned once then cancel.

I hope this helps you.

You certainly have helped. I can even go round to all my current customers and tell them for an extra fee I'll clean them and keep wiping them down each time.

Where I'm from the windows get cleaned every 2-4 weeks.

Windows, frames, sills and doors cleaned everytime.

Thats what i say when quoting

In reality once the first clean is done, its mainly a glass clean anyway, top frames generally stay clean for ages, as do most of the frames, just the odd bits here and there and a quick swipe of the sills.

Brilliant thanks for the advice. That's what I'll say when I'm next out. I currently clean windows part time. I'm. Going all out in a few weeks and will try my best to pull in as many customers as I can.

So perhaps I should send a letter out to my current customers.

Prices explained

I will continue the regular glass only work for the same price with no change

Or

I will now be offering the full package.

Windows, Frames, sills and doors will be cleaned. The first initial clean will be a first off and will be charged at £10.00?after which I will continue cleaning all of the above for £6.50?

I bought a run off say 100 monthly customers from the previous cleaner, who only cleaned the glass. The prices were £1.00 per window and every house is 10 mins walking distance MAX. The prices were between £4.50 (Everyone pays £5.00) and the other houses are £6.00.

I have places where I have 12 houses in 1 small Street.

What would I count as extra add ons?

Conservatories will be £4 including cleaned?

Any other adds ons?

i'm surprised of how many ppl want their windows to be cleaned as "glass only"  ? in my 6 years of cleaning windows i haven't missed a upvc frame not a single one .  If a customer would ask to do a clean "glass only"   i will probably say no  why ? I don't know : )  Is like taking your car to car wash and washing the windscreen only lol

One window is all the glass inside 1 frame whether it's a garage window or a 6 sided bay.

But I don't charge by the window so it's not really relevant.
