Hi all,

recently got a blue water butt like the picture below... I’m just curious to what connection I will need to fill up the water butt and have the water pour into a 25 litre container?

thanks

Depending on where the butt is you may be better buying a submersible pump off eBay for £30 that runs off the mains. You will need to buy some hose to go with it so probably £40-£45 all in.
it will save having to attach it to a battery each time you need to fill a barrel and will fill barrels far quicker and good for the future should you go van mount and have a large tank to fill

I built a table for mine and had it laying down at the height of a 25l drum. I added a tap to the bottom opening, but ended up using a hose to fill the drums up outside as the tap was messy. I just sucked the hose to get it started and let gravity do the rest.

No need for a pump if you don't want to.

Why not just but the green 250 litre water butt from homebase, tap an all, 35 quid mate, save all the ******* about.
Wickes do them for 20 quid at the mo.. 210l i think.

Will fill a 25l drum using gravity in about 3 minutes.

You can get the stand for it which keeps it high enough to fill drums for a tenner.

Will the flow rate of the water be ok though? How long would it take to fill a 25l container?!
It's not the fastest to be fair, when tanks full I say a min, then as tank empty it gets longer, when there's about 50 litres left it bout 3 or 4 minutes to fill, but I sussed out a new tap for faster flow, if it works il post it bud

Thanks dave although mines fills a bit quicker, probably cause I use 20litre drums.
