Benefit of using second D I vessel

Guys,

Upgrading my tiny 1 L vessel to a 11L. Is there any benefit in using the old one as an additional one in the system , or just doing a straight swop

I currently use Ro to get tap water down from 280 ish first

Yep. You will get loads more use from the old resin, softening the RO water before it goes through the 2nd DI vessel. This will prolong the life of the resin in the 2nd vessel. I change the resin in the first vessel when it gets to 3PPM then swap the vessels round. 

Oops re-read the post! Probably not much extra benefit, I wouldn't bother faffing about with those tiny vessels, just buy a second 11 litre vessel if you want to go the double DI route.

I use double DI but I use DI only since I'm in a soft water area.

As far as using double DI after RO is concerned it depends on the ppm of the water arriving at the DI vessel (after the RO). If it's 2 to 3 ppm for example I don't really see the point of a double DI.
