Boost water pressure

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Hi Spruce, I've talked to him and I have a 4040, he is talking to a manufacturer this week and is going to let me know when he will have a pump ready that I could use on a 4040.

   Thanks Richard
Doug's booster pump he sells for a 4021 doesn't have electronic start and stop fitted. I would imagine this would be the same with anything bigger.

His pumps would then either have to be switched on and off manually or have one of these 'machinemart' controllers fitted.

Squeaky clean dave has a YouTube video showing him fitting a booster pump to his 4040. The V11 controller he fitted is nearly £400 and the pump £350. That's madness in my books.

Thanks Spruce, didn't think about the controller, thats why I was going to go for the Clarke but I thought it would boost it above 69psi, I've got an HF4 and wanted to boost it to 100ish. I'll see what Doug says later in the week.

  Thanks

cbm240e requires a start pressure of 1.6 bar so within your 2 bar water pressure. The pump will boost to 4.8bar.

see page 10

Xline pump.

I don't know what the boost pressure is of the pump but the electronic controller requires a water pressure of 1.5bar to activate the pump, so again within your requirements.

Wortex do a number of different pumps. These are the ones Xline sell for their 4040's. You could phone them and ask what the boost pressure of the pump is. They will tell you.

Gardiners used to sell the same pump for 4040's. If memory serves me a poster reported a 65psi plus but I could be wrong.

I agree that the controller is easy to wire up. but I recall one poster a while back went into panic mode when he thought he had to wire it up himself. This is why I suggested getting them to do it @Apw1210

This post from 2 years ago might help you. It shows a pump number. Maybe @tuffers can tell us a bit more detail regarding output pressures.
Thanks again for info. I know from another window cleaner that has tried the Clark BPT600 that was first mentioned that it cut out when it got to a certain pressure then never came back on again as the tap pressure was more than its starting pressure of 1.5 Bar.

Thats what Im worried about happening with one of these pumps. I am also a little concerned about noise as I see you mentioned that in that older thread.

Looks the same to me mate. Mines been decent. I know Tuffers has the same one too.
Whats your tap pressure and output pressure with this pump? Does the pump stay on constantly or does it cut in and out with the tap pressure? Also how noisy is it!

Sorry for loads of questions!

Are you happy with the genie one? It does look very basic but if it does the job Id be happy. Not worried about manually turning it off and on. Does it cut in and out and is it noisy?

You have to manually turn it off when the tank is full. Had mine for about 3 years now and touch wood still going strong. According to the website it pumps the water at 150psi.

Hi SJwhite, it says a possible 150 psi can be achieved, what psi do you get.

  Thanks Rick

It’s a dull noise when it’s running, can hardly hear it in the house. It just works when it’s turned on. I have a solenoid fitted after the pump so when the tank is full it cuts off.

? I just text my wife, check the tank, costs me nowt but a few seconds of my time ?
or just let it flood the van like I used to haha ?

I can flood the van on a morning when transferring water I managed 3 times in one week
This is the most amazing twist of physics. If I'm filling my tank I have to stand there and as I watch nothing seems to happen. I then decide to dash inside to fill the kettle with water for a cup of coffee and in that brief moment my tank is full and another 200 liters are pouring out of the rear doors. Its true, a watched kettle never boils.

So now I stay there at the van until the tank is full. I don't move. Just as I'm about to head back to the garage to switch the pump off the neighbour next door comes out and has something to say, usually about the current state of affairs. I don't want to be rude ..... Caught again.?

My van is 30 meters away from the tank so I am off like whippet once it's close to full but I have still not got there in time and water is flowing out the side door ?
