It’s a personal thing if doing well makes sense to buy new , if just starting out a cheaper secondhand van might be more affordable but secondhand van prices are crazy at the moment.

Weird, I replied earlier as did someone else and the posts have disappeared!
A new van will come with a warranty up to 10 years on a Toyota so that gives a bit of piece of mind. There probably isn't that much difference in costs at the moment although delivery time might not be good.
If you are not stretching yourself too thin financially then a new van is a nice to have but it probably won't earn you any more than a decent used one!!! Just think if this looming recession is bad then you could loose a fair chunk of income.

I have needed to buy 2 vans in the last 3 years or so and never intended to buy new. However since the Euro 6 regs came in any 2nd hand van that fit the spec the price was ridiculous. My 2 new vans cost me circa £3k ish, each, extra than a 2nd hand van that was 2-3 years old. An absolute no brainer to me.

I will be looking into buying a new Sprinter or if they have a demonstrator. 2 new cleans today and a few ton cleaning windows. If I had a full month then we are talking £4k a month less expenses and the monthly van debit. Even today, 2 neighbours wanting a monthly clean next month, doesn't seem to be any cleaners in an estate I cover.

I have only seen an old guy with a ladder but he looks ready to throw in the towel. There must be hundreds of tenner cleans on the estate. Built less than 20 years ago and hard to believe how many they squeezed in. I'll just plod along and see how it goes, got 5 now.
