Agree @daveyboy but a few bad practitioners of this water fed method do give it a bad rep up here..

And put me off using it for fear of losing custom, but I see the pics of good work done on here and take my hat off to you guys

I worried about it for years and didn't invest. Then my employee left with no warning and it forced me into it for safety reasons. Best thing that's ever happened to me at work. I've lost zero customers, picked up more, and am complimented and thanked more now than ever before. It's a big and daunting step to take but I am convinced it's the future of our profession, even if it isn't 100% suitable all of the time (flat roofs etc).

Once you go for it, get used to it, and do a better job with it, you'll be convinced, as will your customer base.

Next upgrade for me: full van mount

That "real window cleaner " quote from people really pisses me offPeople spend thousands on the equipment and do a good job only to be told a guy with a bucket and scrim (nothing against trad as i still do it when needed and was trad 24 years) is a "proper window cleaner" and they are obviously just doing a bodge job

Sure..that is why we invest so much time and effort into our setups to do a ***** job and have dissatisfied customers
Unfortunately there are window cleaners around who don't do a good job. We have one in our town. There is no way his water is pure. Never has been. He doesn't care but still has his loyal customers.

Bad new travels faster than good news. People like to talk bad news up, so what was an issue on one window on one house becomes every window in every house in the whole street.

I've had the 'you're not a real window cleaner, get your ladders out and do the job properly' jibe. Just smile and ignore them or just say ok, will do.' If it makes them feel better then I'm glad I could have helped. They aren't my customers in the first place. I would rather listen to my actual customers who say I do a good job. As far as I'm concerned, just because they say it doesn't mean its true.

If you are getting peed off @daveyboy you are taking these idiots too seriously. You are the only one who suffers; they aren't.

Also it works the other way

I regularly take work on where the customer is unsatisfied with their trad cleaner

I am hybrid..both trad and wfp(mostly wfp now) and never mention the method i use unless asked

I am recommended on the quality of my work and reliability and that is all that is important to me
