Filling a 500 litre tank

Bit of advice needed if some one can help. When filling my tank I have recently noticed that the pump has stopped switching off when full,and as I am not usually with my van when its filling its causing overflow problems. Not being technically minded I was hoping that someone could advise me what the likely cause is and what to do about it. Also I am amazed by the amount of waste water I lose every time I fill. Any suggestions on what I can do with this other than let it drain away, if anything. I am using a van mounted Pure Freedom system with twin outlets.

Likely just be the float switch in the top of the tank not working, might be stuck or knackered, just pick a new one up, and easy enough to swap out.
