Filling tank with tap water and running through double di

Hi all. I’ve recently started my own window cleaning company after 10+ years of working for other companies.

I’m currently filling the tank in my van with tap water (70ppm) and then running through two di vessels then through my hose. Is this the best way to do it, shall I fill the tank itself with the water through the double di?

Had that when I first started out. I tested the tap water and and it was 150 so decided to try using DI onboard. Tested it at the end of a job (with a handheld TDS meter because I hadn’t a clue about in line ones at the time) and found It was coming out at 40. Turns out our tap water fluctuates between 150-450. I quickly moved on to RO but the first step was filling with pure instead of producing it on the job.

Tap to di’s and into the van no problem. That’s what I do. Just keep an eye on the tds. I have an inline tds meter after the di’s to keep tabs on it.
My tds is 72. If it wasn’t for space issues I would probably go back to RO as I was at my last house.
But this way it is easier however it does cost me £90 a month in resin. But I can live with that for now.

I seem to remember from my initial research they suggest that you should keep the flow relatively low? It reduces channels in the resin and extends its life (again, this is if I remember correctly)

Longterm 70ppm isn't financially viable either you'd be better of with an R/O

I always DI before tank as I don't want to be carrying DI vessels in my van. My tds will be around 125 when i move in with the missus next week but no way am I getting an RO. DI only is just so much more convenient and no waste water. It's quicker too. It's takes me 25 mins to fill up my tank after a day's work.

I use 2 x 25L DI vessels
